Been playing the closed beta since beginning of december, ill be brutality honest its not brilliant.
needs a hell of a lot of work, content wise and bug wise. it is still in beta but with release date less than 2 1/2 weeks away theres still alot to do.
if anyone tries it, make sure u compete tutorial before you judge it, it does get alot better after that.

Missed it :(
I haven't heard much in the way of good news about this one.
As a life long trek fan it makes me sad.
As a life long gamer it doesn't surprise me in the least.

Ill happily go on record now and say that this game is set to fail, badly.
It may go down as one of the worst mmorpg releases, the games just not finished, nowhere near it, and the stuff they have in so far is poor or flawed.
its not a MMORPG. It is basically a smallish online multiplayer shoot-em-up game. In a real RPG, there is a persistent world that the player "lives" in; deciding on what "role" to play in that world is the game. In STO, you have one role to play, the Captain. There is no world to "live" in, just a set of battle spaces.
I've no idea what this thread is actually about, but people should just leave Star Trek alone now, it's run it's course. I am a massive Sci-Fi fan and love the original series, Next Generation and Deep Space Nine but they killed it with Voyager, although Enterprise wasn't a bad resurrection (don't get me started on the new film!). It should just be left to Rest In Peace now, there are so many new "universes" to create, why go back to something that is old and stale.

PS Live long and prosper :)
