DJ Hero 2 and GH:WOR demos out now

Demos for music games DJ Hero 2 and Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock are available to download now from Xbox Live, Activision's announced.

There's no word on the PlayStation 3.

The DJ Hero 2 demo includes four exclusive mixes playable in gameplay tutorials, QuickPlay and new multiplayer modes, including Accumulator and DJ Battle.

The mixes are Pussycat Dolls featuring Busta Rhymes' Don't Cha mixed with Pitbull's I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho); Lady Gaga featuring Colby O'Donis' Just Dance mixed with Deadmau5' Ghosts N Stuff; MSTRKRFT featuring N.O.R.E.'s Bounce (Battle Mix); and Estelle featuring Kanye West's American Boy mixed with Chic Good Times.

The Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock demo includes Black Sabbath's Children of the Grave, Foo Fighters' No Way Back, Slash featuring Ian Astbury's Ghosts and Dethklok's Bloodlines.

Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock is due out on 24th September, and DJ Hero 2 will release on 22nd October.

DJ Hero 2 setlist confirmed

The final tracklisting for DJ Hero 2 has slipped out of Activision HQ. Kanye West, DJ Shadow, Tiesto and RZA feature prominently.

FreeStyleGames' sequel arrives on 22nd October in a number of different shapes and sizes. You can grab the game on its own, in a bundle with one turntable (£99.99) or as a party pack with two turntables and a mic (£149.99).

DJ Hero 2 DLC detailed (already)
Two song packs hitting weeks after release

Despite the fact the game's not out until the end of this month, Activision's already detailed DJ Hero 2's first DLC packs.

A pair of song packs will be available on PS3, 360 and Wii next month; the Hit Makers Mix Pack and the Electro Hits Mix Pack.

The Hit Makers Mix Pack will be available on Xbox Live on November 2 for 640 Microsoft Points and on PSN on November 4 for $7.99.

The Electro Hits Mix Pack will be available on Xbox 360 for 640 Microsoft Points on November 16 and PS3 on November 18 for $7.99. All mixes will be released as downloadable singles for Wii for 300 Wii Points each.

Also available in November will be a free compatibility update enabling you lot to purchase and play existing downloadable content from DJ Hero in DJ Hero 2, says Activision.

DJ Hero 2 DLC announced

Activision's detailed three new downloadable mix packs for DJ Hero 2, one of which is out now.

The Hard Edge Mix Pack includes Pixies' "Debaser" mixed with The Prodigy's "Invaders Must Die", and Beastie Boys' "Body Movin'" mixed with Lenny Kravitz' "Rock And Roll Is Dead". That's out today.

On 14th December the Old Skool Mix Pack will release. It includes Fat Boys' "Human Beat Box" mixed with Mantronix' "King of the Beats", Tag Team's "Whoomp! (There It Is)" mixed with 45 King's "The 900 Number", and Beastie Boys' "Triple Trouble" mixed with Tone-L?c's "Funky Cold Medina".

And finally, three Linkin Park hits have been given the DJ Hero remix treatment for the Linkin Park Mix Pack, due for release on 21st December.

The Hard Edge Mix Pack will cost 480 Microsoft Points on Xbox Live and £4.79 on the PlayStation Network. The Old Skool and Linkin Park Mix Packs will set you back 640 Microsoft Points or £6.29. All mixes will be released as downloadable singles for Wii for 300 Wii Points.

DJ Hero 2 gets trance DLC

New DJ Hero 2 DLC adds in a trio of trance mixes from genre heavyweights like Armin van Buuren and Paul Oakenfold.

The Trance Anthems Pack is available now and incorporates the following choice cuts:

    * "Imagine" by Armin van Buuren Mixed With "Punk" by Ferry Corsten
    * "Not Over" by Paul Oakenfold ft. Ryan Tedder (Remix by FSG)
    * "9PM (Till I Come)" by ATB Mixed With "For An Angel" by Paul van Dyk

The pack will set you back £6.29 on PlayStation 3 or 640 Microsoft Points on Xbox 360, while Wii gamers can pick up individual tracks for 300 Wii Points a pop.

The FreeStyle Games-developed sequel launched back in October, spinning Eurogamer's Keza MacDonald right round to the tune of 9/10.
