I got this for Christmas and had been playing it for a an hour or so when I went to do a mission only to find the people I was supposed to meet were not in the game... turns out, according to a guide online, that if you save your game in the wrong place (including right at the beginning in the first village), certain NPC's will disappear.

So I played through it again without saving the game and this time found the people I was supposed to meet and did the mission. Before I could carry on to the next area I had to return back to the village to do something first but got attacked by some bad guys and, because I hadn't levelled up yet, got killed... but since I had no save game yet (because according to the guide the first safe save point is in the next area) I've lost that game too!!!

What a waste of money! How can you send a game out glitched so badly that you can't proceed? I am extremely annoyed. What with F1 being so badly bugged that I lost interest in playing it, and Fallout: New Vegas having numerous bugs that stopped me playing it until it was patched, that's now 3 games in 3 months that have been released that I can't play. It's disgusting how developers send games out without proper testing.

Thank god for the new Tomb Raider, helped me de-stress after a tough week! More of the same please

Sorry to hear about the troubles there. The screwed up thing about it is that it's probably going to be an accepted practice within the industry in the future, especially with the ability to patch games after release. I'm not sure I can name one game that I've played lately that hasn't at one point or another required an update.

JT you have an almost magical power to always pick games that are buggy :P

Anyone else who has never even heard of this game before?

I've seen it in the shops a few times and checked out the achieves when it was first released, seems to be an 'under the radar' release

GamerMan316

It popped up under new releases on LoveFilm recently but I have no idea what it's about.

Jaynestown

It's an RPG in the "style" of Fable which was why it took my fancy, and it was only £20 so a good choice for a present. I managed to get to the "safe" save point this morning, I do hope they patch it soon they as I've enjoyed playing what I can :)

Aside from the fact that it's buggy, I've not heard a bad word about Venetica. It's one of the games I condsidered picking up when I go into town today. I think I'll leave it now though until they patch it.

Exactly, all the reviews were very positive, just wished they'd mentioned the bugs!

This is the first I've heard of it.

Legion

So, in the last month or so has anyone actually had a chance to play this? It's just gone on offer at Amazon for £12.98 and with the refund I just got for The Darkness, and a £9 amazon gift voucher I'll be getting in a day or two I have just enough to pick it up. If it's worth the £13.

Jaynestown

It would be easily worth £13 if it wasn't for the humungous save bug that makes it almost unplayable :(

Does that bug only occure in the beginning of the game, or does it persist through the entire game? I'm surprised it hasn't been fixed with an update yet though, the game's been out well over a month now surely.
Aside from that does it have any major problems?
And is it structured and linear JRPG style, or is it more open and free and awesome?
