lol    I leave you alone for a few days and come home to kitchen fire.   :D  I know it's fun to kick Failed in the crotch, but I think he got the point.

I know it's disappointing when you're looking forward to a Game Night and no one shows up.  Failed does a lot for the community, more than just hosting Game Nights.  Sure, it would be great if he attended each one, but if I asked that of him I'd have to pay him.  8)  Being a part of this community shouldn't feel like a job for anyone, but it has been feeling that way for Failed.

We're here because we share the same love for the same hobby, and would rather share that hobby with eachother than play by ourselves.  We all have the freedom to participate as much or as little as we want, and I think that simple core concept is what has kept 360° Fahrenheit alive for 4 years, outlasting so many other communities & clans.

The community is getting larger, and there are now 3+ Game Nights each week (it used to be just one).  Maybe I should appoint more moderators specifically to host games, but is that how communities work?  I created the moderator roles because I wanted to give members a sense of structure, but I didn't want members to feel powerless in the process.  I don't want us to become some sort of hierarchy that gives moderators full control and members no control.  If I wanted that I would have joined a clan.

We're all on the same level (myself included), and certainly have the right to voice opinions and complaints when needed.  That's what the Forum Feedback & Updates board is for.  If you'd rather discuss something privately, you are always welcome to message me.  That's what I'm here for.   ;)

oh and by the way, thats how its beginning to feel

I told neato that you i thought Luke was better being a mod as he is often on in the day times, at a time when you were having trouble with Sky.

I also thought about Sambo's replacement ... but not Sarges, although Ivan started off well as Sarge Ver.2

I'd have suggested Luke.

Dfuzz is a good choice too, but maybe not Fizz, she's still pretty new

I don't remember mentioning Dfuzz being irresponsible, infact he regularly turns up and why would i compromise his friendship by saying something like that. I searched and searched the forums and can't find reference.

I apologise for my above remarks, i had a bad Saturday and when i came on the forums today i was tired and cranky. That isn't an excuse but i am sorry, i wouldnt' want to cause any riffs in our community and definately wouldn't want to see people leave just because i was being an ass.

I will also no longer be moderator, many times i had refused TJ to become a mod and joined neato to help stabilise our lovely community. It obviously isn't needed as much now and i can go back to just playing games. It'll be nice to allow someone else the privelage of being the esteemed all powerful overlord of gaming nights.

I'm mostly away all this week too, i will be on some nights, but i will probs just play the games i want for a bit.

i wrote this under wednesday theme night racing after you didn't show -

the next time failed can't make it to host a wed game night, i will gladly step in and host myself (providing i have the game). that way there will be no disappointed faces, and i get host advantage. everybody's  a winner!

then the same week, under february gaming schedule you put this -

I'm off for a few days, so i won't be around to do the Game Night posts, i should be back Thurs, maybe Weds.

bloody errant moderators, never do any work!!!1! someone do this weeks for me, someone with authoritar!!

love Failed

i am not saying you did it purposely, but it sure felt like it. it definitely felt like my offer of help was being ignored. i am there on every game night, that's why i offered to help after you missed quite a few. but then you posted that, so i thought fair enough. but no one with authority has been taking over when you aren't there, and because you don't let people know in advance game nights just don't end up happening. so i am upset because i offer to help, you put that someone with authority needs to help, then game nights continue to not happen at all when i could be hosting them. i know it's just a game night to some, but i look forward to them immensely as i don't go out drinking or stuff like that, game nights are when i socialise with friends. bottom line is you have not shown up to about 7 or 8 now over the past couple of months and then you have acted like nothings happened without a single 'sorry i couldn't make it guys', or 'sorry i can't make it guys, can one of you guys host'. if i know in advance you aren't gonna be there i can take over, which i offered to do but there you go. i won't mention it again anyway, i get upset i am blowing it out of proportion and i am in the wrong, failed does and say's whatever he feels like and get's backed up.  :-\

I must have missed that, but I definitely see your point.  My apologies for not addressing this when it happened.  You (and everyone) certainly have the authority to host a game night.

The beauty of 360° Fahrenheit comes from the participation of the community as a whole.  But it's difficult for willing participants to pick up the slack (like hosting) if they don't know where the slack is.  Maybe instead of the basic "Players List" for Game Nights, we should include a "Host List" as well?  I'm open to ideas.

And just to remind everyone, if you ever have feedback (ideas, complaints, etc.) I urge you to take advantage of the Feedback & Updates board.  If you'd rather discuss something privately, you are always welcome to message me.  The first step to improving the community is listening to the community.   :)

I'm off for a few days, so i won't be around to do the Game Night posts

All i meant was someone with the ability to STICKY topics to do the Game Night Posts for me, why would i care who hosted. I also said Authoritar (Cartman i know) but not someone with no responsibility, we go back to 'anyone can host a game night'. I can also be quoted on many occasions mentioning this same thing, 'anyone can host' ...

I relish not hosting, it's a pain in the ass. 100 invites and 3 people turn up (RDR Night), struggling to get a game with everyone in (BC2 night), fucking about with Gears 2 cycling maps but not mixing up teams after each game.

I know i havn't been around for a few game nights, but them simply not happening isn't all my own fault, you all have the power to invite people. Doing all those game nights for people has it's rewards, playing with great friends ... but the double edged sword is dulled for all the pros, sharp and cutting for the cons.

I can understand you being pissed them not happening, it sucks when game nights fall apart. I can't (and won't) be hold accountable for them when it's easy to hit invite all. I will (and have) said i'm accountable for my pissy attitude and lack of commitment this last month. I'm disenchanted with the whole idea, i'd sugest having multiple people who can take the care to set nights up and it goes without saying 'anyone can host'.

I've managed to grab an hour or two to spam today, i even got online before, i'll be around later in the week if i can find time.

I think that concludes the Failed is evil discussion.  Can we have a group hug now?   ;)

Thank god for the new Tomb Raider, helped me de-stress after a tough week! More of the same please

your completely missing my point. i am not arsed if you show up or not. you have been setting the game nights up, it's assumed by many that you will be hosting, if not you should say 'i won't be hosting' then we will know, then one of us can host instead. it's the not knowing. if i set a game night up, it's assumed that i will be there and unless i say otherwise it's also assumed that i will host. if i can't make it i say 'sorry, can't make it' or 'can someone else host' or 'sorry i wasn't there'. i was obviously in the wrong for assuming that you would be hosting on the nights you set up, or that you would even be there, so blame it all on me, whatever. it's also my fault that i felt ignored when i offered to help host as i shouldn't have expected a reply. common decency doesn't exist on the internet and it never has, so like i said my mistake. I honestly can't be bothered arguing anymore, i got way too much other stuff going on to worry about this. people can think of me what they will, it's not a witch hunt, i felt upset for the reasons i have already stated and no one will ever stop me saying what i think or feel.
i won't be around for a while, can't be bothered.
