New PSN ID's?!

Hey guys and Girls my friend is giving me his old 60Gb PS3 in the near future as he's just bought a new one. So when I do get it I will be making a new ID but was wondering does anyone know when Sony will be getting their website fully back up? as I was hoping to create my ID online but it just say they doing maintenance which i know is a result from them being hacked awhile back but its so I can at least start adding people and stuff. Plus if anyone does want to add me let me know so once I get my ID I can add ya

A few areas of the PSN site, including account creation, have been down for a long time.  No official word on when they'll be restored, just a "It will be ready when it's ready" sort of deal.

You should be able to create a new account from a PS3 console.  So you may have to wait until your friend hands it over, unless you can hop onto someone else's PS3 in the meantime.

A friend managed to create an account on his console the other day though he still encountered a few problems whilst doing it.
