Bayonetta 2 could be "spin-off"
Platinum Games director talks sequel

Bayonetta game director Hideki Kamiya has hinted as to what we could expect from a seemingly likely sequel.

"We obviously have love for the work we have created, so I don't see anything wrong with Bayonetta 2," Kamiya told Game Informer, following the astonishing critical success of PG's mental demon slayer.

But Kamiya wouldn't simply want to do more of the same. "Personally, I'd like to approach the world of Bayonetta from a different angle, in the form of a spin-off."

You should check out this Bayonetta Review, if you haven't already.

What would you like to see from Bayonetta 2?

Bayonetta 2 is an upcoming action game being developed by Platinum Games and published by Nintendo for the Wii U, with Sega serving as its advisor. It is the sequel to the 2010 game, Bayonetta, and is being directed by Yusuke Hashimoto and produced by Atsushi Inaba, under supervision by series creator Hideki Kamiya. It was announced on September 13, 2012, and will be exclusive to the Wii U.

Have heard the furious cries from the many about this being an exclusive to the Wii U, but can't say that I blame Nintendo for trying to snatch up something to pull back some core gamers.

The only thing I can see being a justification for the anger is the fact that the original game set its foundation on the other consoles and now has skipped town for Nintendoland. That does feel like a low blow. But do we know if this is a true exclusive?  Or will it eventually make its way to the other boxes after a while?

I'm sure Nintendo will hold the publishing rights for a little while.  But that doesn't completely rule out the possibility of Platinum releasing Bayonetta 2: Substance Sigma with a different publisher.

Hopefully it'll find it's way on to proper consoles soon, the first game was quality.

Bayonetta goes surfing and other craziness. For some reason the game's music wasn't recorded in this clip, so it's all sound effects.

First Week Japan Sales Reflect Dismal Interest -

[Dengeki Online's] sales figures for Bayonetta 2 claim the game sold 28,825 copies in its first week on sale. To put that into perspective, the first Bayonetta game sold 200,000 copies in its first week, granted that game was released on PS3 and Xbox360.
