You can snag the beta for free right now off of Steam if you own any previous Dawn of War game. To make this easier for you, all Dawn of War titles (except for the upcoming expansion, of course) are on sale right now on Steam.

I can heartily recommend Dawn of War 1 and it's expansions ($9.99) to any lover of hardcore realtime strategy.

For people who like a completely novel spin on the RTS genre, or who want a good online coop game, Dawn of War 2 and it's expansion Chaos Rising ($15 and $9.99, respectively) are well worth the dosh. That said, the new expansion is completely stand alone and only costs $30 itself for any individual race packs, and it too will get you into the beta.

What is a race pack, you ask? Well, you pick your favorite race, buy that pack, and you get the full game with all of the races, but for whatever race you specifically buy you get some special wargear for them. For my part, being a Greenskin sympathizer, I will be purchasing the Ork Race Pack version of the expansion. But I'll still be able to split my time between playing as my favorite Ork-Boyz and my second favorite Imperial Guards.

I'm downloading the beta right now, and I'm pretty much on lock to buy the expansion (which, again, is completely stand alone) when it releases.

I wish I liked RTS's.  They're perfect for me tedium addiction, but I just can't the hang of them.  I have a hard enough time playing the Kefling games on XBLA, which are like RTS's for 6 year olds.   :D

How do you get Dawn of War 2 for 15 bucks? Was that a sale that ended? :(

Just built a desktop and that was one of the games I was thinking of getting. Loved Dawn of War the first.
