Kotaku's pulling a report from KrebsOnSecurity, stating that the public websites for Deus Ex: Human Revolution and its publisher Eidos, have been hacked. Of course, what's a story of game companies getting hacked as of late without a ton of information and code stolen?

The count so far has it at 9000 resumes and personal information from around 80,000 registered fans/users of Deus Ex's website.  It's mere speculation, but KrebsOnSecurity is claiming that via the alleged culprit's chatroom logs, they've learned that something else referred to as the "src" was also compromised. Kotaku is stating that this could refer to anything, from the "source" code for the game (which I bet would instantly sent Eidos into a brick-s***ting session) to the possibility of it merely being source code for the victimized websites.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution gets E3 trailer

Square Enix has released a new trailer for snazzy high tech thriller Deus Ex: Human Revolution, in which men with built-in sun-glasses spurt elbow katanas at hapless mercenaries.

Right finally decided to place my preorder for this, I went for the mid-range effort.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Augmented Edition:

  • the Explosive Mission Pack,
  • 10,000 extra credits
  • Huntsman Silverback Double-Barrel Shotgun
  • SERSR Longsword Whisperhead Silenced Sniper Rifle
  • Linebacker G-87 multiple shot grenade launcher
  • Automatic Unlocking Device
  • M-28 Utility Remote-Detonated Explosive Device (UR-DED)

I'm not sure if I'm going to get this or not.  It's on my "maybe" list.  I guess I should make up my mind soon though.

The doctors say his chances are 50/50... but there's only a 10% chance of that.

Don't think there's much of a hurry for this, there's no MP (to say it'll be on any game nights) and it's liable to take a while to complete anyway, especially with Gears 3 on the way. ;)

yeh, Zero's right, ima probs leave buing games now until Gears comes along, that'll hold me til' B3 and then there's Halo: Anniversary. I think i might look at my backlog instead.... IL2-Sturmovik ... hmmm

Not sure on the XBox but I played the PS3 version at Gamescom yesterday and I'll be avoiding that like some vile plague.

The control granularity was such that I could target to the left of an enemy's head or the right but even tiny stick nudges would just flip between the two. So an enemy in many places was impossible to hit from a stationary position (using cover etc) Using the PC version it felt like a properly designed game by comparison.

Buying this for PC.
