I was thinking I needed a blu-ray, a friend mentioned the PS3, and at the time (couple years ago), the PS3 was only about a Franklin more than a good blu-ray and was said to load much faster.  Glad I went that way, my games out number my blu-rays, and that ain't saying much.  Never figured on getting a current model console, much less both, don't care to spend 60 for a game. Got two PS2s, one still used quite regularly to this day.

Really though, if you average 40 bucks a game, the console price itself doesn't seem all that bad.  Now back when they were intially released, yeah, pretty freaking pricey!  I had a friend in Chicago that stood inline to buy 3 PS3s upon initial offering only to resale them on ebay, the least he made was 100.00 and the most was 200.00.  I remember thinking at the time I thought he was crazy for investing 1800.00 in 3 consoles to try and turn a profit.

I can't see the point of having two consoles myself. The only advantage I can see of having a PS3 is the blu-ray player element.

I don't even watch Blu-ray, but the DVD upscaler on the PS3 is slightly better than the 360.

I mainly use my PS3 for exclusives and a universal media hub, since some video formats aren't supported on the 360.
