I will have to check this out tonight when I get home.  If the demo is any good, I will most likely pre-order it.

I've pre-ordered it regardless, early Gears 3 beta will make sure this sells like crazy, much like Crackdown selling far more than expected because of the Halo 3 beta.

And hopefully like Crackdown, Bulletstorm ends up being an excellent game.   ;)

Yep, Crackdown was quality, Bulletstorm just looks mental and I like mental!

I thought about ordering it just for the Gears 3 beta, but decided that I had to like the game at least a little bit to justify the cost.   ;D

Good point, I might end up cancelling the pre-order once i've tried the demo!

It's only early access to the Gears 3 beta but you know what i'm like with that franchise, I want it yesterday!!!!   :)

Gonna play me some demo! I'll be back with impressions.

In a word: Meh. Don't get me wrong, it has all the stupid fun of Painkiller or Serious Sam (kind of)... But the thing about Painkiller and Serious Sam that really made them worth it was the price tag. They were both budget games. I can't justify putting more than $30 down for Bulletstorm based on the demo.

Also, anybody else feel the demo was painfully easy? At least Painkiller and Serious Sam made you work a little. Bulletstorm just spoon feeds you baddies to kick, whip, headshot, nutshut, and grenade-in-the-pooper-shot. I know the idea is to make you concentrate on getting a high score, but it turns out that just concentrating on surviving is more fun.

The upside? It looks like it has 4 player coop, which sounds like a blast.

Is it anything like The Club then ?

Maybe, if The Club dropped some 'roids laced with acid...

I'd have to agree with 'Shakes. I went through the demo a couple of times to try to find some variations and if there's a great amount of variation in the full game, the demo didn't really hint at it. The demo clocked the progress too (I'm guessing for leaderboard purposes) - not sure if all levels work the same way in the Single Player Mode, but if so - it feels more like a race to the end with "Blow sh*t Up!" checkpoints.

May be fun in the Multiplayer realm like 'Shakes said.

Also, the color palette in Bulletstorm reminds me of Enslaved.

I liked the insanity of the demo, combining different skills for crazy kills is fun though could get boring really quick, hopefully there'll be hundreds of different kill types to keep it fresh, co-op will definitely be a blast.

DFUSIONITE

It's a brilliant game, most fun i have had on a shooter in a long time. And we can't comment on 'variation' until the full game is out, my god the demo is only a quick 10 minute section of 1 level! It's laugh out loud funny, graphics and sound are fantastic, controls are well thought out and not over complex, and i did't find it too easy at all. Co op will be amazing but i'm probably gonna love single player too. I'm gonna buy it definitely, and i'm quite shocked about people's reaction to it to be honest.

nCogNeato

It's easy to make a bad demo, even if the game is good.  They're trying to appeal to the largest possible audience with a demo while using fringe resources, which can all go wrong in so many ways.

That's a plus.

Failed

I think i might rent it

While I agree that the demo wasn't the greatest, it was pretty funny.  Since I didn't totally hate it, and because it has the Gears 3 beta I will be pre-ordering it today.  My nephew thought that the demo was "freaking awesome" and has asked me to pre-order it for him too.
