If a recent batch of screenshots are anything to go by, then a slew of great old Dreamcast titles are on their way to the Xbox Live Arcade.

The screenshots in question - found at the digiex forums - show arcade versions of Doom 2, Crazy Taxi, Sonic Adventure, Metal Slug, Raystorm HD, The King of Fighters 2002 and Quake Arena Arcade.

Obviously some of these are already known to us (like Quake Arena Arcade for instance) and others have been long rumoured... in fact, some have already been confirmed for Japanese release, however, to seem them in their English form is always good to see.

Let's just hope that these games actually find their way off what is surely PartnerNet - an internal secret Microsoft network - and into the open.

Sonic Adventure, Crazy Taxi submitted to Korean ratings board by Microsoft



Microsoft Korea has submitted Sega's Crazy Taxi and Sonic Adventure to the Korean ratings board, leading to speculation that the Dreamcast titles are racing to XBLA. Sega was unable to officially comment on the ratings.

Sonic Adventure popped up like a blue blur on radar back in January, while Siliconera points out that Crazy Taxi has been banging around as a rumored XBLA release for a little while. With E3 only a couple weeks away, it wouldn't be surprising to hear more about the titles then -- you know, unless another ratings board accidentally posts a classification.

Dreamcast Returns on PSN and XBLA this year



As hinted by the ESRB  -- and predicted on our Xbox E3 Bingo card, Sonic Adventure and Crazy Taxi, two of Sega's standout games for its dearly departed Dreamcast, will be released on PS3 and Xbox 360. But they're just the first Dreamcast titles.

Sega announced that those two games will be available this fall in North America and Europe, calling them the "first two classics" to be released as part of Sega's plan to republish Dreamcast games on PSN and XBLA. The games will include improved resolution, surround sound, and modern amenities like online leaderboards, Achievements, and Trophies.

But Sega isn't bringing Saturn titles back just yet

Sega has told CVG that it expects to have between 18 and 24 old Dreamcast titles re-released on XBLA and PSN by next summer.

As revealed earlier this month, Sega will bring Sonic Adventures and Crazy Taxi to the online services in the autumn.

But it looks like the much-loved publisher has many more Dreamcast classics up its sleeve.

Earlier today at E3, we asked Sega West president Mike Hayes how many Dreamcast titles he expected to have on the service by this time next year.

His reply will warm the heart of Dreamcast lovers everywhere:

"We hope to have somewhere between 18 to 24. Around that."

Good news, hey kids? Sadly, Hayes said that the firm was concentrating on bringing back Dreamcast games for now - with no plans to revisit the Sega Saturn back catalogue.

"We don't have any more plans than Dreamcast at the moment," he added. "You're talking about things like Saturn etc? No, we're focusing on Dreamcast. There's a significant catalogue there.

"With Dreamcast, we want to refocus people on that particular console. We want to make it more of a campaign... Confusing it by putting other [systems] in, we decided probably wouldn't be the right thing. And obviously the Dreamcast was huge for the fans

Still, 18-24. That's a lot of games. What would you like to see added to the pot?

The good thing about the kinect being controller free is that people like my daughter, who sometimes gets confused with the buttons on the pad, will be able to play games without getting frustrated. The move looks good also. To me it's pretty simple, initially those gamers who have kids and girlfriends/wives will probably want to buy kinect/move and i can foresee they will have alot of fun with their families if they do. Then after a year or so when developers have gotten used to the peripherals we will start to see games that attract the more core audience. As long as their are still great titles coming out that DON'T use motion control, and so far it seems there is, then everyone should be happy. If you don't like motion control gaming then it's even simpler - don't buy one.
