A reminder: pre-ordering the title will get you free launch-day access to the first downloadable Heavy Rain Chronicles episode, which won't be available otherwise until a later date.

DAMMIT!   >:(

It's that kind of s#!t that makes me buy games that sit on my shelf for 2 years.  I want the freebies, but I don't have time to play them all.

I still have Too Human sitting on my shelf.  At least I have the freebie preorder stuff for spending $60 on a game that I can buy today for $20.  I technically spent $40 on a sword and armor that won't even be useful after I level up my character for 4 hours.  Kill me in the face.

Failed

You need to play some of your old games me thinks, if you can manage to get off Dragon Age  .... or Tinker :P

Sony Computer Entertainment has revealed that Heavy Rain will arrive in Europe in February.

The PlayStation 3 exclusive is now available to pre-order from online and high street retailers. Selected stores are giving away bonus DLC chapter 'The Taxidermist' to customers who purchase their copy in advance.

Developed by French studio Quantic Dream, the game has been in development since 2006. Its plotline finds four characters tracking a serial murderer known as The Origami Killer.

Sony recently outlined a special Collector's Edition of the title, which will be exclusively available from HMV.

Heavy Rain arrives in Europe and other PAL territories on February 26.
Can't wait for Shenmue 3

I hate jokes that rely on visual imagery.

I've had it right up to here with them.

Glad I bought a PS3 now & I think I might just be using this more than my 360 this year, well at least until November when Gears 3 comes out of course  ;D

Scan of the Heavy Rain review from the Official Playstation Magazine

Well, panic averted for David Cage and team! For the first review out we'd think they'd be pretty happy with a 9/10, especially considering Heavy Rain could possibly be quite a marmite game.

Be Origami Killer in Heavy Rain DLC

David Cage has revealed that one episode of Heavy Rain's Chronicles DLC puts you in the body of the Origami Killer himself.

Over the course of an hour you'll uncover the reason for his murderous obsession, Cage told gameblog.fr (helpfully decoded by our friends at Eurogamer France).

Another Chronicle will be based on FBI profiler Norman Jayden, and in it we'll find out where he got his scar and how he became addicted to prescription psychoactive drug Triptocaine.

And there's also the episode starring photographer Madison Paige, who trots off to investigate a taxidermist and unsurprisingly runs into a spot of bother. We'll find out why she can't sleep, too.

The Heavy Rain Chronicles will be around an hour long, according to Cage, and serve as prequels to the characters in Heavy Rain. Nothing has been said about episodes starring the other two leads, Ethan Mars and Scott Shelby.

Sony announced the Chronicles DLC last year and told us it would comprise of two instalments, both to be available after Heavy Rain's release - 26th February.

European Heavy Rain demo dated

PlayStation 3 owners will be able to download a demo of Quantic Dream's Heavy Rain on 11th February.

That's according to PlayStation Store team chappy Mike Kebby, who said so in response to a comment on yesterday's Store update thread (thanks Kotaku).

"Heavy Rain demo should be on the store on the 11th of Feb," is what he said, in case you were wondering whether it was ambiguous.

Yesterday a French report revealed that the upcoming DLC for Heavy Rain, the Heavy Rain Chronicles, will allow players to play as the Origami Killer, among others.

Look out for our review of Heavy Rain soon. The game is due out on 26th February, and the first two Chronicles will be included early with the special edition version.

Has anyone seen actual 100% gameplay footage yet?

I've seen a lot of these "in-game" trailers, but nothing yet of what the game actually looks like as you're playing it.

A scary thought occurred to me ... what if the entire game is one long QUICKTIME?!?!?!   :o

Looks like there will be a lot of QTE in this game, great stuff!!!

nCogNeato

That looked uncomfortably like a Quicktime button press sequence.

My excitement for this game is starting to dwindle.   :(

TaraJayne

It got me a bit excited. I want a PS3 now
It kinda reminded me of shenmue a bit

But anyway thats not why I am here :D

Heavy Rain will have a mandatory install.

The game will require 4.2GB of hard drive space to download essential files for playing, according to JustPushStart.

To pass the time, instructions on how to create an origami swan will appear during installation.
