Take me back, Lilliana! I didn't mean it, honest!

Demo coming Febuary 22nd

In the demo, players will venture through the game's prologue, choosing from three different character classes. They'll also learn more about Hawke and hone their skills and abilities that will make them the ultimate hero. After finishing the prologue, players will enter a key new location in the world of Dragon Age, Kirkwall, befriending Isabela, a romantic interest in the game who is also a deadly smuggler. Upon completion of the demo, players will unlock a special weapon, Hayder's Razor, an ancient dwarven blade which increases health, mana, and combat abilities, in the full release of Dragon Age II.

I have never played the first one, but I did try out the demo the other night.  It seemed pretty fun so I am really leaning toward picking it up.

dude its like AMAZING

if you like Mass Effect you'll prolly like it..
theyre almost identical cept for the setting/place/char blah blah blah

in dragon age its:blah youre a legendary person everyone knows you and you gotta gather an army for a huge fight blah blah
in mass effect its: blah your a legendary commander everyone knows you and you need to gather an army for a huge fight blah blah

usually i DONT like clones but im sold on dragon age...

Alistair in DA is = to Joker in M.E ._.

Mass Effect is another one I haven't played.   :)  I did "borrow" it from my nephew a few weeks ago, but I haven't tried it out yet.  Do you know if you have to have played the first Dragon Age to follow the second one?  Or is there any benefit of playing the first one?  I know on Mass Effect the character carries over from the first to the second.

I prefer Mass Effect, DA is very good if you get into it though.

No nothing specifically carries over like in mass effect so you can get stuck into it straight away but i think their is some sort of refresher type cut sequence to fill in the gaps on the story of previous events and what the blight are and the relations/decendants of some of the previous characters pop up now and then, looks like this game could be something special if its your type of thing

Quote from: Play AsiaDear Gareth,

A few days ago you have been informed that your order #21699340 of Dragon
Age 2 (Signature Edition) has been cancelled by us. This e-mail is intended
to further explain the situation and to rectify our initial response which
was far from stellar.

The whole incident came as a surprise to us as well when on Friday last
week we received the following message from our US distributor:

"[...] Sorry for the late notice but we just heard about this minutes ago.
All internet retailers have been asked to pull the bioware sig edition from
their sites [...]"

In order to minimize damage, but sadly in a rush and without careful
examination, we sent out a notice to all customers who had ordered the
Signature Edition within minutes after we received the note from the US. We
had asked to either cancel the order or convert to the regular version of
Dragon Age 2 – at the same price - due to the fact that we were now offered
the regular version at pricing of the Signature Edition (that's how fast
market prices are changing in that business).

We do now realize that we had sent out the notice too fast without thinking
twice about how much trouble that causes for our customers who now not only
lost their order with us, but probably the chance to buy the Signature
Edition elsewhere too. We therefore hope that you can accept our sincere
apologies and we would like to offer you a store credit voucher worth US$
25 in form of a coupon, which will be sent to you in a separate email
hereafter.

Right now we are in the process of re-working our operating procedures with
our suppliers in the US to avoid (or at least detect earlier) situations
like this.

We know that the voucher cannot buy you a Signature Edition of the game but
we want to express how serious we take this case and that we are trying to
minimize damage. We do hope that we are able to restore your faith in our
company and would like to welcome you back as a customer in the future
again.

Yours sincerely,

Your Play-Asia.com Customer Service.

So, the text in bold about all online retailers having to pull their signature edition orders, is that true or is that just Play-Asia making excuses? I would've thought they wouldn't hand out $25 to everyone if it weren't their own fault, right?
If this is a fault on Bioware/EA/whoever else is involved in publishing the game, then I'm pretty fucking upset by the way they advertise the signature edition to people to sell the game, and then pull a switch at the last second. It's seriously fucked up.

That said, I now have a free copy of Dead Space 1 on the way courtesy of my $25 coupon, so any pre-orders I make in future, will be through Play-Asia. Hopefully more get cancelled and I get more free money :D`

QuoteTHIS IS FALSE.

We made Signature Editions to order. So if "X" store asked for 100 copies, we made 100 copies. We have enough stock for all orders made within the promotional offer time period. Any discrepancy is the fault of the retailer.

I have to admit the Dragon Age Legends Facebook game is pretty good.

I always said I'd never play a Facebook game.  Thanks, BioWare, for making me a liar.   :P
