Red Dead Redemption help needed to get 100% please!
« on: July 10, 2010, 02:01:09 PM »
Help.

How the hell do you kill a grizzly bear with just a melee knife?

And how do you shoot the hat off of a someone and then disarm them.

I'm 97.4% complete and these two challenges are pissing me off!!!

Thank god for the new Tomb Raider, helped me de-stress after a tough week! More of the same please

Shoot the bear a few times with a weak gun then get the last hit with a knife, thats how i done it.

havent done Hat & Disarm im guessing you need luck+slow-mo

I'd agree with Maib.

For the bear kill try in your ranch in Beechers Hope.  Animals have to run around fences so its easier to corner them.

Beware though once the bear has low life it begins to run away, there's a method where you can lasso the bear to slow it down but I that didn't work for me.  Cornered it near the fencing and knifed the crap out of it!

How do you get the bear in Beecher's Hope though?

The shoot the hat off one is even more annoying as whenever I shoot the hat off of someone they normally die, it took me forever to get the one where you just have to shoot the hat off of two people (without disarming them), and that was just down to luck!

If you run from BH to the Manitzia (sp?) outpost then there's always bears knocking about and usually boars in close proximity too

Or, I finally trap one inside the fence on Beecher's Hope and start hacking away at it, only to get attacked by a boar!!!

Thanks Luke, I hate it when I get stuck on something like that! Just the last level of the Sharpshooter to go and then 6 more bountys to capture. Where did you do the disarm 6 people without reloading?

Go to a saloon (I used Thieves Landing) and hide behind the bar, use the repeater that holds 22 rounds, start shooting and people will come through the door one at a time, perfect for you to disarm them carefully.

I went to the gang hideout in Tesora Azul, used the Evans Repeater (not too powerful and has large clip).  Kept my finger on <LT> (otherwise you'll auto-reload when you holster) and went for the disarm on the first 6 banditos.
