Halo 3: ODST - Vidmaster Challenge: Endure

Attempt # 2 was a semi-success.  We managed to make it to Set 4, Round 3, Wave 4.

1 final wave and we would have had it, but the combination of no shields + endless grenades was too much for even ArKade to pull 3 noobs through.

It did take a few rounds to get back into the groove of Halo's control scheme, after months of playing Left 4 Dead, Borderlands, and other FPS games.  Now that our Halo muscle memory is back I think we'll be be able to avoid wasting so many lives at the beginning of the game next time.

I look forward to Attempt # 3 later in the week.  Thanks ArKade.

Hey it was fun.

I thought too late through about this though:  When the tilt skull is on so they take far less damage from bullets, having a plasma pistol and a regular pistol/carbine can take down brutes super fast.

Towards the end I was just dropping shields of brutes with plasma pistol shots as fast as I could.

I'm up for giving it another shot, and if you want to do those meta game achievements in campaign, I'd do that in the meantime too.

Plasma Pistol + Magnum = Easy Brute or wait till they lunge and sidestep around for a quick Assassin kill .... don't try with Hammer Brutes

It's a 4-player max limit.  I already gathered 2 local friends, I just needed 1 more player to fill the 4th spot.  ArKade was my top choice since he already has the achievements and knows how to keep us noobs in line.

We're going for attempt # 3 maybe tomorrow night.  If one of my local friends drop out, you'll be first on my invite list.

Edit:  Looks like if we start at 4:30 I should have just enough time before dinner to finish it with you guys.  And if not, it's just hot dogs, so I could hide and run grab a couple and come back to the controller
