Battlefield 3

I just can't stand this game any longer and here's why:

1 I'm sorry, I don't know what everybody else is looking at, the graphics are poor and look like they belong in a game from about 4 years ago. Just take a look at the cars, vans and boats in Seine Crossing if you don't believe me, they look like "blocks". And yes I have installed the HD content!
2 The maps are way too big, you spend 90% of the game running, or driving or flying to your target (only to be killed when you get there anyway)
3 Probably because of point 1 above, opponents are too difficult to identify amongst the rest of the game's objects. I've literally been standing next to people and not noticed them!
4 What happened to the Aim Assist function? I keep going back to the options screen just to check it's still on. It doesn't work, period!
5 There are effectively only 3 game types, Rush, Conquest and Team Deathmatch... what about some variety for crying out loud?
6 The co-op missions are only 2 player. If Gears 3 can do 4 player co-op for the whole game on one disc how come Battlefield can only do 2 player on smaller missions when it has two dics to work with?
7 It's pretty much impossible to fly any of the vehicles which means I can't progress in the co-op missions because I can't complete the "Fire From the Sky" one!
8 The servers keep going down, meaning half the time you can't get a game anyway (not that I want to anymore anyway)
9 The menu screens are horrible, they give me a headache just looking at them. They're just not user friendly at all.
10 And finally... it's too f***ing difficult. Ignoring the multiplayer which I can accept is down to my own skill level, I tried playing the single player and got to the second level and couldn't progress because I kept getting sniped at the same bit (despite trying several tactics). I'm playing on Easy for god's sake, give me a chance to get used to the game!

I am so disappointed. I really enjoyed Bad Company 2 as it was the only FPS I was any good at and so was really looking forward to this, it has let me down big time and now I've had to buy MW3 instead, which it turns out is an infinitely more enjoyable experience and a lot more user friendly.

Rant over, I had to get it off my chest because every time I try and play it it just winds me up even more. Back in the box it shall go, wonder how much I can get trade in for it?

don't sell it to CEX though, take it to HMV or check local deals, lots of places are doing MW3 for Â£35 with a trade-in of B3.

With regards to the difficulty, I breezed through the bit on the campaign I was stuck on this morning (after I posted my rant). It would appear that the sniper was shooting from the opposite side to where I thought he was, and must have had one of those guns from the film Wanted that shoots round corners!!!

I'm gonna try and do the campaign over the weekend and then trade it in next week

i agree, campaign is solid. Not that i've played much, i have clocked 20hours online.

I've never wanted Skyrim purely because I didn't like Oblivion. I am sort of tempted now, I am in a dilemma which I can't decide about until I complete the campaign

God, even the single player campaign is crap, it's so dark! Who designed this game, vampires? I dunno whether I can even be bothered to grind my way through it on Easy

Edit: I wonder if they've made everything so dark to try and hide the crapness of the graphics? The light effects from the car headlights, flares, street lighting etc are really giving me a headache, I wonder if that's why it's aggravating me so much, I do find I am a little photo sensitive sometimes

Ha ha, this is getting laughable now, apparently sniper bullets won't break glass, but normal rounds from an assualt rifle will. I dunno who designed this game but they need sacking!!!

JT's personally hate thread for B3. I'm still loving it by the way, play some Rush on Canals on the attacking team and swear blue murder at the AA when it rips through your team (just if your running out of things to whinge about).

They're going on a proper nerf mission with all the stuff people have whinged about, if anyone's been killed by a weapon it's getting the nerf. Eventually the only effective weapon will be foam #1 Finger gloves.
