Battlefield 3 sales hit 8 million
3 million added to launch week tally

Battlefield 3 has now sold eight million copies since launch, publisher EA has revealed.

CFO Eric Brown made the announcement during today's Baird Technology Conference in San Francisco, as noted by GameInformer.

As previously reported, the DICE-developed shooter sold five million copies during its first week on sale in late October, meaning it's added a further three million since.

Brown added that EA has now shipped a total of 12 million copies of the game to retailers.

Patch and Karkand dlc ready to go:

Go to in game store and download ''multiplayer update'' and your good to go, 2gb.

I'd post up the patch notes but for some reason it won't let me!!

I noticed they messed this release up earlier but fixed it super quick, if only MS could be arsed fixing the RAAM dlc!

There is some confusion on pc atm, same kinda deal as the Raam dlc pay for when it should be free. All fine my end just waiting for it to finish.

don't DL it from the dash, or you'll end up paying, go through the ingame menus

Yes, good point. You can download physical warfare pack free now as well if you don't have it.

Some interesting changes, mines are now color coded lol blue and orange. End of round score is now shown between rounds, why it was never there I don't know!!

Played all four maps lost all four games!! guys on the other side where all 45+++++++++++, you know how it goes the BC heli spawn campers!
Makes it more satisfying to blast them with the now nerfed stinger!

Mobile AA tunguska on Wake Island, drove it killed with it, didn't even know what it was until afterwards, very cool vehicle!

The maps are pretty funky to say the least.

I'm all set for embracing BF3 multiplayer. I do like MW3 for it but Battlefield is just so much "bigger" if you like. And I've decided I need to become "That guy" who is really good at flying choppers. (Probably won't happen, but it gives me a goal)

Maybe this weekend, though Skyrim still has it's teeth firmly sink in. I don't want to "overplay" it if you like, so some Battlefield will be good. I never played the old ones fully, so the Karkand maps will be new to me - but still, very enjoyable.

The pace on these maps is frantic, rush on sharqi is brilliant. Makes me actually like rush. The only thing is defenders on Cq assault nearly always win, I'm sure it will change over time when folk figure things out. The problem now seems to be choppers, because the stinger/igla is nerfed chopper pilots are damn near untouchable. Everytime you go to lock on they turn and blast ya before you lock, and even if you do hit the damaged is now reduced! Im not one for complaining but some pilots are bitches with their spawn camp lock. Other than that excellent stuff, even tdm is good on these maps.
