Microsoft raising subs charges in UK, US, Mexico and Canada

Microsoft has confirmed it will be raising the prices of Xbox Live subscription in UK, US, Mexico and Canada as of November 1.

Before you go mental, it looks like UK got off lightly, with the only raise being on one month subscriptions, going up from £4.99 to £5.99. Who the hell buys one month subscriptions anyway? Come on people.

Same deal for Canada - one month subs go up from $8.99 CAD to $9.99 CAD. Dry your eyes.

It the US that's most affected. One month subs go up from $7.99 to $9.99. Three month plans rise from $19.99 to $24.99. And the one year subs will jump from $49.99 to $59.99. Soz.

Mexico's gamers will also have to pay 599 Pesos for their one year subs, instead of 499 Pesos.

To make you all feel better about it, Major Nelson says: "We're confident that when the new pricing takes effect, an Xbox LIVE Gold membership will continue to offer the best value in the industry."

i bought 12 months worth for £32.

I got a 12 month sub for that price about a month ago and also got an extra month free with it too, one of the Forza 3 subscriptions, from Shopto.   :)

I buy sub cards in bulk whenever a store has them on sale.  Amazon.com, Buy.com, Wal-Mart, Target.  All great places to get deals.

I'm beyond pissed. It is bad enough to have to pay anything for the Xbox Live "service" (which is essentially something we have been getting on PC for free for years), and now they want more money? Yuck.
Your mom!

I'd rather pay for Le Cordon Bleu than go the 1$ super store and eat off sample trays ;)
