Excellent, pleased you'll get it legitimately Craig, I'm up to 96 now, boosted 18 levels in just over 3 hours. It is really boring but at least once I get there I won't have to worry about any future XP events, I can just play it for fun as and when I want to

Thank god, level 100 achieved. Time for bed. Good luck to everyone else who is chasing it, boosting isn't as much fun as I thought, but it's still a hell of a lot quicker than doing it properly.

Don't get me wrong everyone, I'm not proud of boosting it but I was so angry with myself on Sunday night for wasting an entire weekend playing on my Xbox (I didn't leave the house and put off visiting my brother) that I just couldn't face the thought of waiting for another 2 or 3 XP events to try and get there and end up really resenting the game. I wasn't doing it for the achievement (I hadn't won a ranked match on Grindyard so didn't think it would pop), I just wanted to get my wings so that I could have whatever bonuses are available for Gears 3.

Anyway, it's done now, and I wasn't the only one. Hopefully the ranking system for Gears 3 won't be so hard, and pigs might fly!

It's going to move from my "Current Games" box to the "Occasional plays" box. Can't quite bring myself to send it to the "Finished and forgotten box"

I still love gears 2 for all it's faults and i am looking forward to the next xp event. I am level 88 at the moment  which means i ranked up 14 times over the weekend. I am gonna try and get to 90 this morning before it ends.

Don't get me wrong, I still love the game, I just got really fed up of chasing the rank, the game was becoming a chore rather than a pleasure and I didn't want it to ruin my enjoyment of it and Gears 3. I can now play it when I want to, rather than when Epic tells me I should be playing it (if you see what I mean).
