Walmart Lists Ico, Shadow of the Colossus Set for PS3

Walmart is taking pre-orders for a box set of popular Playstation 2 action games ICO and Shadow of the Colossus for the Playstation 3 for just under $40.

While Sony has yet to announce such a bundle, Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida told IGN back in June that they are "looking to continue to do these HD conversions" following in the footsteps of God of War and Sly collections for the PS3.

In the case of those games, the classic PS2 titles featured updated high definition graphics.

Kotaku have reached out to Sony for comment and will update if and when they hear something on this.

Around a million for Ico, bit more for Shadow of the Colossus.   :)

Team ICO Collection "around £25"

The heavily rumoured ICO / Shadow of the Colossus high definition PlayStation 3 collection will be released in March or April next year and cost "around £24.99", industry sources have told Eurogamer.

ICO / Shadow of the Colossus, which popped up on the website of US retailer Walmart over the weekend, will be available to pre-order on UK retailer websites in the next few days, Eurogamer's been told.

Walmart.com has the game down for a 1st April 2011 release, which we understand may be placeholder, and priced $39.82.

Sony's plan with the release is to ape the God of War Collection, a re-mastered port of God of War and God of War II on a single Blu-ray.

Team ICO Collection, which includes high definition ports of PlayStation 2 classics ICO and Shadow of the Colossus, should be priced similarly, according to our sources.

Sony's set to go big at the Tokyo Game Show this week, where we expect to hear more.

Sony told us: "We don't comment on rumour or speculation."

In July Sony Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida said the console manufacturer is "keen to look into" converting ICO and Shadow of the Colossus to HD for PlayStation 3.

"As soon as we released God of War Collection, a lot of people were giving us suggestions, and ICO and Shadow of the Colossus, these are at the top of the list," he said.

"We are very aware, and we want to see and play in HD in the better frame-rate as well."

i'm glad i recently sold both my ICO's and my Shadow of the Colossus, as this would only kill the retro prices. i got £25 each for my ICO's and £40 for Colossus.

I've said it many, many times before now, but one more time won't hurt. Shadow of the Colossus is one of THE greatest games i have EVER played. I have played probably 1000+ games, so that's something special. It should be played by everyone.

I got rid of my PS2 before Shadow of the Colossus was released so i'll pick this up on the PS3, your opinions of that game are the same as mine of Ico, definitely one of the best games i've ever played.   :)

Ico was brilliant too, but Colossus was immense in everything it did. True gem.

Team Ico Collection first screens
Ico and Shadow of the Colossus get better

Famitsu has posted a couple of screenshots from Sony's upcoming PS3 Team Ico compilation.

The Team Ico Collection will contain remastered versions of Ico and Shadow of the Colossus on one Blu-ray disc.

Rumours of the collection were ignited again by a Wallmart listing.

The Japanese magazine went on to list the title in its table of contents for PS3 games, which finally confirmed the game as real.

These screens show off Ico, Yorda and the first Colossus, as well as Team Ico's unmistakable visual style.

I want ICO. >:(

Get a PS2 or a PS3 then.   :)

PS3 - No thanks.
I have a PS2 (well my son does). I often look out for ICO but it's hard to find, I want ICO on the 360.
