I don't know how well the game did commercially, but I do know it has a respectable cult following.

Handshakes has played it.
I own it, but haven't played it yet.

My blog on Deadly Premonition.

For a quote that I'd say sums up my thoughts about the game perfectly (so you don't have to read that wall of text of a blog post): "I think that is the real genius to the game. It walks a razor thin tightrope between being a shabby budget game with actual inadequacies and being so incredibly self aware that it can actually pretend to be shabby for comedic effect".

Also, for those who are thinking of buying the game you might want to take my "test" (in the blog) to see if the game is for you. The test is just a screenshot of the driving controls screen in the game. If you look at it and laugh then the game is for you. If you look at it and cringe then you won't like much of what Deadly Premonition has to offer.

I've been so looking forward to this, that i'm a little shamed i havn't been and got it. I will go buy it NEW tomorrow, so the money goes to the developer and the company who released it over here.

I remember seeing a 6minute clip of him talking to his coffee and some crazy old woman sitting at the other end of an 18ft table even though there were no other diners.... absurd. And before it gained extra cult status after the old 'better than Heavy Rain'.

Well I'm a good way into the game and would have to say I'm loving it. The story and atmosphere are superb, This game draws you into it's gameworld and never let's go. Yeah, the graphics are old gen looking but how does a game that is so ugly look so beautiful at the same time, The biggest problem with the game is the controls, You do get used to them but they do still hinder the game a little.
The best way to describe this game would be that if the CoDs are seen as playable Hollywood action movies then Deadly Premonition is a playable #1 best seller book. I would Highly recommend this game to any one who likes their games to be a little slower pace and story based.
