Earlier today, Shakes made a sneaky appearance on the 360DF Homepage.  Maybe he's like Bloody Mary or Candyman, if you say his name he appears.   :D

Bryan Singer Talks X-Men: First Class
What does it mean for Magneto movies?

Now that he's officially signed to develop and direct the film, Bryan Singer has begun to talk - at least, to drop hints - about mutant prequel pic X-Men: First Class.

Chatting with the Hollywood Reporter's Heat Vision Blog, Singer admitted that while he couldn't talk specifically about the story (it's still a secret), he could lock down what part of the X-story it would cover. "It's basically about the formation of the X-Men. How they began and the relationship between a young Xavier and a young Magneto."

And since it'll borrow elements from Eric Lensherr's longer life, it's even more likely that the Magneto origin movie will be shoved back on the schedule as Fox concentrates on this. "This story would probably utilize some of the Magneto story because it deals with a young Magneto, so it might supersede that because this would explore that relationship between a young energetic professor and a disenfranchised victim of the Holocaust."

But even First Class will have to wait in line behind Singer's planned fantasy pic Jack The Giant Killer, which is his next scheduled movie. "Right now that is the plan. Unless there's a problem in the development process. There is a script for "Jack"; we're in visual development. We've got artwork and pre-viz that we are doing. But you never know how things go."

He also talks more about Battlestar Galactica and Excalibur, both of which sound like they're still far from certain just yet.

I usually drop in late at night, spit out Communist propaganda, and sneak out like a ninja.

Awesome.

I can't wait to see creepy wax statues of Xavier and Magneto recruit a 16 year old Cyclops to fight Germans in 1918.

You'd think with a leading production company and blockbuster budget, they'd take a day to map out a proper timeline for when the f*** something happened and what age everyone should be.   :D

Tekken movie poster teased on official Japanese site

Film blog Twitch has spotted the teaser poster for the upcoming Tekken movie on the official Warner Bros. Japan site for the film. We don't want to be overly cynical, but we've had our hearts broken so many times before that it's hard to get excited for any video game-based films -- no matter how spot-on Wushu martial artist Jon Foo looks as Tekken's Jin Kazama.

You know what else we're not fans of? The complete lack of Panda in the teaser poster (check it out after the break). We don't care if the character doesn't appear in the series until the third game, if we don't see an upright Panda punching someone in the face, there's no telling how upset we'll be.

If they go for campy like Dead or Alive, I'll enjoy it.

If they go for serious and fail like Street Fighter: Chun-Lil, I'll hate myself for watching it to the end.

If they go for serious and succeed, I'll check the skies for flying pigs.

The cast list doesn't fill me with much hope, always liked Gary Daniels' work though and as long as the fight scenes are done well, i'll be happy.

Cameron: Avatar smoking is criticising gamers.
James Cameron has defended criticism of smoking in his latest film Avatar by suggesting it's a negative comment on gamers.
After anti-smoking groups criticised the fact that Sigourney Weaver's character smokes in the film - Scenemsoking.org has given Avatar a "black lung" rating - Cameron was quick to defend it as a 'negative comment' on gamers.

"She's rude, she swears, she drinks, she smokes," Cameron explains. "Also, from a character perspective, we were showing that Grace doesn't care about her human body, only her avatar body, which again is a negative comment about people in our real world living too much in their avatars, meaning online and in video games."

So there you have it. The reason Sigourney Weaver's character smokes is she cares more about her avatar than she does about herself, just like gamers. But presumably not gamers playing this game.

Real Answer:     "She's rude, she swears, she drinks, she smokes ... because she's badass like that."

But that of course would get a negative response from the media.  Fortunately, "gamers" are an easy scapegoat.
