Snake Scale-ey...interesting.

It's all the rage in hero movies.

No one's man enough to pull of spandex anymore.

To not be drawn to Superman's 'package' is to not be human.

'Eureka' canceled, sixth season plans dropped

Whoa! Big shock on Eureka.

Remember how Syfy ordered six episodes for a potential final season last week? Well, tonight the network decided that not only is the series firmly going to end, but those final six episodes are not going to happen after all.

The 13-episode fifth season that was ordered last year, which includes a holiday special, is going to be the final season of Eureka.

Here’s a statement from Syfy:

“After painstaking consideration, we have had to make the difficult business decision to not order a season six of Eureka. But Eureka is not over yet. There is a new holiday episode this December and 12 stellar episodes set to debut next year, marking its fifth season and six memorable years on Syfy. The 2012 episodes are some of the best we’ve seen, and will bring this great series to a satisfying end. We are very grateful to Bruce Miller and Jaime Paglia, their team of incredible writers, and an amazing cast and crew who have consistently delivered a series we continue to be very proud of. We thank the fans for their support of this show and know they will enjoy its final season in 2012.“

Last week a Syfy executive and said he was “hopeful” the drama series about a town of geniuses would continue beyond an additional six episodes, but I guess the deal didn’t come together as parties expected. At least Eureka ran for a healthy five seasons and this move still gives producers time to wrap up the show in a creatively satisfying way. (I know, it’s like the TV series equivalent of saying, “At least he didn’t suffer,” but it’s still true!)

That's why I can't watch television shows while they're running. Too much heartbreak... I'd rather wait till they shut down and rent/buy the season series.

Lukehi

Contagion, as the name implies, tracks what happens when a lethal airborne virus spreads across the world, killing those who contract it in a matter of hours. Soon, the global pandemic is  causing chaos and the medical community is racing to try to find a cure even as society starts to crumble.

Soderbergh has the likes of Matt Damon, Marion Cotillard, Laurence Fishburne, Jude Law, Kate Winslet and Gwyneth Paltrow in the cast, with Damon and Winslet as the focus as a man whose wife (Paltrow) gets sick and infects him, and a doctor looking to find some way to stop the spread â€" until she herself shows signs.

Really like how this is shaping up, it's been under the rader for a while but I like the new posters so much I thought I'd post them:

This is just 4 (of 6) and build images of panic/terror without even watching a trailer...fair to say I'm excited for this film... :D

That is the worst best movie poster I've ever seen.  Hawt!

I actually saw the trailer for this when I saw Cowboys vs Aliens.  I thought it was pretty lame.

At the core, the poster's still plastering actors' faces - horrible habit the studios have.

Not sure about the film. I haven't seen the trailer yet, but on the flipside, I like this poster a bit more:

Short Animated Film:  Mac 'n' Cheese

The description for the video is as follows:
QuoteMac 'n' Cheese is an animated short directed and created by four students at the Utrecht School of Arts in the Netherlands. This roughly two minute animation took about five months to make, and about a bajillion peanut butter sandwiches.

Synopsis: When you find yourself running scared and running out of energy, there's only a few options left to outrun your opponent through the southern desert. Stopping at nothing, watch these two guys wear each other out and rip through boundaries hitherto unbroken. Enjoy the ride!
