Microsoft's pricing for Games on Demand has been confirmed at 1600 to 2400 Microsoft Points.
The games confirmed so far can be found here but Microsoft has yet to reveal what each individual price for those games will be.

With the update due on August 11th, expect an individual price list to emerge shortly before then.

Mass Effect is 1600msp. They show a clip of it on the Inside XBOX preview of the new update.

- The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion ($29.99, 2400 MSP)

Another complaint ...

They're selling the basic Oblivion for the same price as the Game of the Year Edition.

That means you have to pay another 3200 MSP (5600 total) for a game that should only cost 2400 MSP at most.

Contrary to reports Xbox Live won't be down today while Microsoft implements its new dashboard update. Here's the run of play.

Microsoft's XBL spokesman, Major Nelson, has confirmed via Twitter that the service will continuing running as normal while the update is rolled out worldwide. If fact the update is now available he says.

"Moments ago, the team released a system update (aka Dash update) to all Xbox Live members," says Nelson. "Over the next few hours - or the next time you sign into Xbox Live after that - you'll receive a prompt to accept this mandatory update. If you participated in our Preview Program, you already have the update and will not be prompted."

While biggies like Twitter and Facebook functionality isn't due until later in the year, this update will give you access to:

    * Games On Demand - Download Xbox 360 titles, such as Mass Effect and Viva Pinata. Find the full list over on OXM.

    * Avatar Marketplace - Buy premium items for your avatar, such as Gears of War clothing.

    * User Ratings - Rate (out of five) every item on Marketplace and see other items that are highly rated.

    * Xbox Live Parties - More flexible options for Xbox Live Parties will be added.

I won't be buying avatar clothing. The only thing that slightly interested me was a lightsaber. But it was blue, I'd only get a red one.

You're so bad.

I was tempted to buy some of the Splinter Cell outfits, they all looked awesome.  I just can't get myself to pay for asthetics.  I've never payed for a gamerpic or theme, and I don't want to start now.

... but they do look awesome   :'(

I couldn't help myself. I bought a gears t shirt complete with cog tags for 80 points, and a guitar for my avatar for 160 points. The cog armour and halo armour is WAY over priced.
