I won't be getting anything, it looks awesome but i'd rather buy a theme.

I'll save my points and buy actual games instead.

Trivium's got loads of sh*t, he had a different outfit and toy every 5 minutes today.

I had to get some Adidas Trainers. Did not want my Avatar getting picked on at school.

Microsoft has answered a bunch of questions about the new Xbox Live Tenure feature, otherwise known as the little number that shows how long you have been a Gold subscriber for.

The maximum number of years is currently six, Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb reminds us - although this changes to seven today, 13th August.

As of next week, everybody who has been a Gold subscriber for over a year will display a number. Logically, any time spent as a Silver member does not count. And Tenure will no longer be reset after 14-days as a non-Gold member.

The "Member Since" date on the Xbox.com Account page is not your Tenure, by the way - but the date you last upgraded to a Gold membership. To find out your Tenure, log-in to the Billing and Account Management page.

So, who has the highest?

this is from an unhappy writer from thataussiegamingsite

Live Update is Live With Added Annoyance

Here's a bed time story. One night a father tries out the new Xbox Live update before he goes to bed. Wisely he completely ignores the Games on Demand service, frowns at the two measly games listed on his new Completed Games List and then spends some time picking through the Avatar content. He decides to get a guitar for his Avatar and a lightsaber for his Star Wars mad son who has an offline Gamertag. He decides to add the lightsaber to his sons account so he gets a nice surprise when he boots up for a game after school the next day. Strangely the lightsaber doesn't show up in his sons Avatar customisation list. He rechecks his own, still there, then heads back. Then it dawns on him, the expensive avatar content can't be shared between profiles on the same machine, but of course why would it provide even the teensiest amount of value to the consumer.

This can't stand, unless I'm a complete twit (which is entirely possible) Microsoft have really punched low by restricting Avatar content like this for no reason I can see. Screw you Microsoft, when I'm driving if I see you crossing the street tomorrow I won't be braking.

You can play Arcade games on multiple accounts on the same console. The problem comes when you move your profile to a new console, then you either have to be online to play them, or transfer the licenses to the new console.

Correct.  From what I can tell, Avatar Marketplace items are the ONLY downloadable content that cannot be shared on the purchasing console.

Arcade games
Gamerpics
Themes
Expansions / Maps / etc.

All can be shared with any profile signed into the console used to originally purchase/download the items.  Avatar Marketplace is the only content on Xbox Live that is 100% profile-specific.  Another reason I won't be buying any.

... although, those Splinter Cell outfits are still tempting me ...  :P

According to https://billing.microsoft.com I first signed up for Xbox Live on December 28th 2006, a day I remember fondly.

My Xbox profile says (2).  I know I reverted to a Silver membership for a month or two, so I suppose I'll move up to (3) sometime around January/February 2010.
