Namco announces Ridge Racer Unbounded with initial trailer
Developed by Bugbear Entertainment

Ridge Racer Unbounded is the first Ridge Racer game on Xbox 360 since 2006. It also has a fairly ridiculous name, but we'll let that slide for now. The developers at Bugbear intend to "add an unexpected dimension to the series and deliver an original blast of ferocious racing adrenaline."

From the trailer it looks like they'll be doing this by creating a mixture of Burnout and Split/Second. Which would definitely be interesting to see. You can see the announcement trailer for yourself below, complete with what appear to be rendering techniques stolen from the late 90s.

"Breaking free from all the pussyfooting around tame circuits, politely bumping into rivals' fenders, Ridge Racer Unbounded has a new mantra - Drive, Destroy, Dominate - and it's one that's going to shake up the racing genre for good", the press release states.

There's no mention of when we'll be playing this game, but no doubt more details will be revealed in the near future. Hopefully with some gameplay footage.
