Having it "fixed" chornologically, seems to lose a lot of the impact...

Agreed. It's still a very cool suspensful trailer, but without the 'reveal' of the girl being a zombie ... and being their daughter, it does lose a lot of the impact.

It also raises a very important question ...

Why the hell was a 10-year-old girl running around a resort by herself in the first place?!? 0min 47sec it's clear the parents are alone in the room together while the girl is left to wander the island alone. Seriously ... that's more disturbing to me than the zombies.

If you look closely, as I have, the parents both have brown hair, while the kid is a full on blonde. Conclusion? The kid is the result of an affair, and the father secretly hates her. That is why he barricades her out of the room, and then throws her out of a window as soon as she gets in.
