i have prey and the darkness, i would have set a game up but i didn't want to step on toes. many game nights have just not happened in the past couple of months which is fair enough if your busy failed but people need to know in advance if possible. i don't wanna set a game up if you are just running late as they are your game nights. i have offered to help in the past but as was pointed out i am not a moderator so i think i will just play what i fancy from now on and if it's multiplayer i'm after i will just send out invites via the dashboard. hope this is ok with everyone, i just don't wanna spend all week voting on something if it might not happen and like i said i don't wanna step on toes by hosting when i don't know what's going on.

game night aint happenin failed didnt finalise the voting so we didnt know what we were playing nor did he turn up would have set one up but i thought i would give him chance to turn up next time providing me or dave have the winning game we will send the invites

As I've pointed out before we're not a CLAN (if we were I'd be the first one to wave goodbye) so Failed is perfectly entitled to play whatever he wants but as Dave said it would be helpful to know Failed if you're not going to be around so that someone else could set something up. I haven't been around much lately as I've got a bit bored of gaming but I still check what's due to be played each night in case something takes my fancy.

For the retro games nights in particular it really is important that the voting is decided early to allow enough time for people to go out and buy the game if they have to. Personally I'm unlikely to go and pay out for a game just to play it for "one night only" but if I had have done I'd have been pretty annoyed if then nobody turned up!

That being said, it's only a game guys and girls, it's not life or death... well unless it's Gears of course!

i know we are not a clan, and yes failed can do what he wants, but if he doeasnt want to set a game night up, or knows he's not going to turn up, all im asking is a little courtesy, and allow someone- "with authority' to take over, and if like last night he didnt turn up, a small word called an apology wouldnt go amiss

oh sorry, i thought he was game night moderator, my mistake. when i promise to turn up for a game and i don't i apologise, ask anyone who knows me, it's common courtesy. if you set a game night up, promise to be there, don't show up, don't apologise, then act as if nothings happened, then do it 4 or 5 times in the space of a few weeks, then when someone gets upset you write 'diddums', well i am sorry but that is bang out of order.

sorry marty i don't like people who don't have manners. he said he was gonna play, and set it up, he didn't fine, but his reaction to vicki being upset is petulant. and yes i am upset now. your right though it isn't worth an argument. i'm just not gonna play on game nights anymore

i just think vicki has a right to be upset about game nights not really happening any more, especially after i offered to help and failed totally shot me down. in fact he didn't even respond to my offer, he told neato that he wanted someone with 'authority' to take over when he wasn't there. neato had to explain why to me. so i don't host because i was shot down and yet game nights still aren't happening. it's not fair on those that want to play. so i'm not gonna play anymore i will set my own up via the dashboard. and that's my final word on it now.

I told neato that you i thought Luke was better being a mod as he is often on in the day times, at a time when you were having trouble with Sky.

I also thought about Sambo's replacement ... but not Sarges, although Ivan started off well as Sarge Ver.2

I'd have suggested Luke.

Dfuzz is a good choice too, but maybe not Fizz, she's still pretty new

I don't remember mentioning Dfuzz being irresponsible, infact he regularly turns up and why would i compromise his friendship by saying something like that. I searched and searched the forums and can't find reference.

I apologise for my above remarks, i had a bad Saturday and when i came on the forums today i was tired and cranky. That isn't an excuse but i am sorry, i wouldnt' want to cause any riffs in our community and definately wouldn't want to see people leave just because i was being an ass.

I will also no longer be moderator, many times i had refused TJ to become a mod and joined neato to help stabilise our lovely community. It obviously isn't needed as much now and i can go back to just playing games. It'll be nice to allow someone else the privelage of being the esteemed all powerful overlord of gaming nights. 

I'm mostly away all this week too, i will be on some nights, but i will probs just play the games i want for a bit.

lol    I leave you alone for a few days and come home to kitchen fire.    I know it's fun to kick Failed in the crotch, but I think he got the point.

I know it's disappointing when you're looking forward to a Game Night and no one shows up.  Failed does a lot for the community, more than just hosting Game Nights.  Sure, it would be great if he attended each one, but if I asked that of him I'd have to pay him.    Being a part of this community shouldn't feel like a job for anyone, but it has been feeling that way for Failed.

We're here because we share the same love for the same hobby, and would rather share that hobby with eachother than play by ourselves.  We all have the freedom to participate as much or as little as we want, and I think that simple core concept is what has kept 360° Fahrenheit alive for 4 years, outlasting so many other communities & clans.

The community is getting larger, and there are now 3+ Game Nights each week (it used to be just one).  Maybe I should appoint more moderators specifically to host games, but is that how communities work?  I created the moderator roles because I wanted to give members a sense of structure, but I didn't want members to feel powerless in the process.  I don't want us to become some sort of hierarchy that gives moderators full control and members no control.  If I wanted that I would have joined a clan.

We're all on the same level (myself included), and certainly have the right to voice opinions and complaints when needed.  That's what the Forum Feedback & Updates board is for.  If you'd rather discuss something privately, you are always welcome to message me.  That's what I'm here for.

i think your missing what i said neato, we never asked failed to turn up for every game night, we were upset as failed doesnt turn up to hardly any game nights anymore- which is fine, but never tells anyone if he doesnt, a lot of people bought the game for the last game night and he never showed up, never apologised , nothing, im not fussed if he doesnt turn up, but at least tell us he's not, thats why we got upset
