I do not believe for a second that rage will only be 15 hours unless you blast through the main story double quick time, the reports saying fallout 3 took 20 hours are a joke as well. I have been playing that game for over 100 hours now and i am nowhere near finished. If it turns out to be true though and there are no sidequests to extend the experience to at least 30 hours there are gonna be a lot of complaints, especially from bethesda fans who will buy the game because bethesda published it and expect something similar to fallout.

I think it is worth remembering that Rage isn't an RPG. Rage is first and foremost a FPS. It is made by guys who have only made shooter games for the past 20 years, and I don't think they are looking to change with Rage. In fact, when ZeniMax(Bethesda) bought Id (the Rage developer), they went out of their way to say that they made the move to avoid conflicts of interest involving two developers under the same publisher making the same genre of game. In other words, Bethesda does the RPGs while Id does the FPSs. No chocolate in my peanut butter.

I am certain that if you go into Rage expecting a Fallout RPG experience you will be disappointed.

Now, considering most AAA action titles clock in at around 4-10 hours(CoD:MW 2 is about 4 hours, Gears 2 is about 10), I'll be extremely pleased with a 15 hour run-through of Rage.

15 hours is far from disappointing.  It just raises the question ... "What the hell is on the 2nd disc?"

yes, but that's not what they were making out the game to be like in the interview that i saw. the words open world, side quests, plenty to see and do, and rpg elements were used alongside the words FPS. If they had just said 'it's a straight up fps' that would have been different, but they didn't. I know a hell of a lot about bethesda as they are my fave dev, i am a member of the beth forums and i know that they are not really having anything to do with the making of the game, i also know the id tradition very well and me personally am not expecting a fallout 3 style experience, but there are those that definitely will be. That said, i will still eat my hat if it doesn't take me at least 25-30 hours to complete the game, the games you mentioned are straight up shooters, rage is definitely not. And i will also ask the question, what the hell IS on the second disc?

I find I can post an event through the [Calendar] but not edit existing events.
