[Rage Delayed] - New US Release Date October 4th, 2011 / Europe Release: October 7th

*ouch*

ps.  Are you guys able to add/edit the calendar (event links at the top & bottom)?  If not, I need to fix that.

I find I can post an event through the [Calendar] but not edit existing events.

How about now?

If you want to install upcoming shooter Rage on your Xbox 360 you'll need to make some serious room â€" about 22GBs.

id Software programming legend John Carmack revealed the gargantuan install size during his QuakeCon keynote (reported by GamingBolt)

"On the 360 we don't have a partial install option," he said. "It's all or nothing, which is kind of unfortunate. It means you have to install 21/22GB of stuff which takes a long time but if you've got it and you play it on the 360 that's the way to go."

Why is it the way to go? Because not installing the game means latency.

"Once you get everything from memory that works pretty good, but if you're coming straight from the hard drive then the first time you walk into everything from the DVD or from the Blu-ray â€" even worse in terms of total latency time â€" you listen to that Blu-ray churning around as it's pulling everything in," Carmack continued.

...if there's gonna be DLC for Rage, it's probably going to pwn some hd's out there.

Personally I've got space on my HDD but this really isn't fair on those with small amount of space.  Yeah I realise they don't have to install games to enjoy them but isn't installation reccommended by M$?

ID is recommending that you install (22GB) to the Xbox 360 hard drive. Apparently, trying to run the Xbox 360 version of Rage straight from the DVD performs a bit poopy, with lots of texture pop-ins and chugging. I gather the order of best to worst performance is PC, PS3 install (if Sony allows it, so far they are leaning towards no because it takes up too much space), Xbox360 install, Xbox dvd and, interestingly, PS3 blueray (bluerays can hold more but cycle slower).

Isn't the co-op in this game kinda crap compared to the co-op in say borderlands?  I thought I heard that it won't be full co-op campaign.
I like my women how I like my coffee: ground up and in the freezer.

The doctors say his chances are 50/50... but there's only a 10% chance of that.

The coop is just a collection of missions. You don't get to do any of the exploring or questing in the coop.

There also aren't any dedicated servers for PC. Still, they made it clear that Rage is really a singleplayer game with multiplayer bonus, so hopefully the singleplayer will blow me away enough that I won't need the multiplayer.

I enjoy some good singleplayer.  I'm socially awkward.
