This.  Took me maybe 6 casual horde waves to get it to onyx by myself, from about the halfway point.

I've got two acts left on insane.  Two and a half left on four player co-op.  Hoping to have both of those done today.  Then I just need like two more achievements (level 50, max versus multiplier) before I'm done with all the achievements I want to get in the game.  Not gonna get Srsly3 or socialite.

Epic Games acquires NBA

Cary, NC - Big news today in the world of professional sports. Hugely successful video game firm "Epic Games" has acquired the NBA for an undiscolsed amount, reportedly made possible from record profits from their "Gears of War" series. Epic executives promise to "Make the NBA more accessible to the public and people who aren't good at basketball" , when asked why this needed to happen Epic had this to say: "Well we just feel like a lot of people are being left out not just from the NBA, but basketball in general. There are a lot of people that would like to play basketball, but just don't have the skills to do so. We plan on rectifying this issue through a series of rule changes to be coming in 2012 to not only the NBA, but basketball as a whole". More news as this story develops.

Cary, NC - Outrage has erupted since Epic has released their revised rules for the NBA to make it "more accessible" along with reasons for each rule change. Every single member in the NBA is threatening to quit and leave the league, but Epic does not care because polls show that they have about 25 times the number of players eligible to play in the NBA than previously since the bar has been set so low concerning the amount of skill needed to have success in the league. More people playing in the NBA means more of their family members supporting them and purchasing tickets and memorabilia, and while all original NBA players and fans are expected to leave - projected profits have never been higher due to the new wave of players and fans.

Impending NBA rule changes:

- Rims have been shortened to 6 feet tall on both sides of the court
*We felt that the rims were to high, and slam dunks were to difficult to do for the average person. Slam dunks are a lot of fun, and we think everyone should experience them. Veteran players can still slam dunk, but now those who are new to the sport can as well. We feel this makes it more fun for everyone.

- Dribbling is now an option
*Dribbling the ball while you walked could get to be very difficult, especially when you've got guys after you trying to hit it out of your hands. We also noticed instances of really good ball handlers just walking all over novice and inexperienced players, which would cause a lot of people to just quit basketball all together. They had no drive to get better because the stuff the very good players were doing looked "Very hard to do". So what we did to remedy this was make dribbling optional. This way it evens the playing field. If say, and Allen Iverson would like to dribble all over the place and be fancy then he still can. And if say, Joe the Plumber who has never played basketball before picks the ball up and runs to the other side of the court - he can. It's now fair for everyone.

- All shots are worth 3 points besides free throw shots, no more 3 point line distinction.
*Having the 3 point line was a real deterrent to new players in the league. It's so far away! If someone like say, a Ray Allen has the skill to make those cool looking shots then that's great but a newer player shouldn't be at a disadvantage just because he practices so much. To help balance things out all shots are now worth 3 points (besides free throw shots). A skilled shooter still has the advantage because they can score points further away from the basket then a lower skilled player, this just closes that gap a bit more.

I reckon they'll ruin chainsaw and bayonet charge by adding stun, regardless of if you've managed to get the chainsaw revved or if your 50ft into a charge!?

Already had one title update but that was just so beta players and people who got the game early could keep their in game bonuses, no news yet on a proper update.

Gears of War 3 Sells More Than 3m Copies in First Week

Microsoft and Epic have reason to celebrate. The highly anticipated end to the Gears trilogy - Gears of War 3 - has eclipsed 3 million units first week. This covers a period of 5 days in both Americas and EMEAA. This both marks 50% growth over Gears of War 2 and means that it outsold the first weeks of both previous iterations combined.

Gears of War 3 also claims the biggest launch of 2011 so far, surpassing Pokemon Black /White's western debut. It also claims the 6th biggest X360 launch week all-time, worldwide, just behind Grand Theft Auto IV.

Gears of War 3 saw decent growth in both Americas and EMEAA, selling 2.15M units in Americas (up 850,000, 65%) and 850,000 in EMEAA (up 260,000, 31%). The franchise typically sees around 6-6.5 million units lifetime, but Gears 3 is set to buck the trend and should surpass 8 million units.

One note on the patch, when I first put the game in I was on Live so it patched straight off. Played campaign lalal, the next night I went to load up campaign only for it to say '' save files corrupted''! I had put some content for new vegas and DA2 on there and loaded them up, so the gears patch had to download again. Strange indeed, saves were fine after the title update was reapplied! seems to be some connection with stats. or something they didn't tell us!

Had another reverse game today, clicked on horde and entered beast! it played the match this time though.

On a funny/ serious note, Drydock horde , Brumaks are seriously bugged. Moonwalking/circling on the spot over the bridges, clipping through buildings all but 1. And worst of all torque bows are clipping through/just not hitting them and this is from full power and dead on aim. Other than seeing two brumaks and a crap load of grinders come at ya is exciting indeed.

Nice, then you'll just have to get whatever chieves Epic give us in the DLC but they are usually really easy.

Had a blast on Horde last night, me, Lee and a couple of 13 year olds on Sandbar, got to Wave 50, everyone died and I had to do the entire wave alone with a crazy Lambent Zerker tearing up the place, I kicked it's ass!
