if you both shotgun each other at the same time and you die ... host advantage
that doesn't happen any more, you both die at the same time now EVERY time. Which is annoying yes, but better than just you dyeing which happened way too much in gears 2. That's why there are now dedicated servers to avoid the host advantage problem, and yes, it works brilliantly and reduces frustration levels MASSIVELY! You are gonna love it failed  :)

I'll be there Monday, gonna miss out on the Flaming Hammerburst, but i'd never use it anyway ... Lancer all the way!

the beta is ace people, can't wait for the two new maps next week. Sawed off shotgun is my fave weapon, once you learn how to use it it's AWESOMEly powerful  :)

So far I'll have to go with the retro lancer.  That 'spear' attack is sooooo satisfying.   :D

I'll never give up my chainsaw.

The chainsaw is pretty nice this time around.  When you hold 'B' you quickly pull the starter cord like an actual chainsaw, which is pretty baddassy.  If previous games featured that animation, I never noticed it.

Overall, I'm liking what I've played so far (10-ish matches).  The pace seems much faster, but that may change when larger maps are released.  The variety of weapons and attacks reallly adds to my enjoyment.  I get bored easy.

I lost a lot, but I don't think I experienced any lag.  Finding a match takes forever, but I'm guessing that because of all of the Beta backend data wizardry going on.  There were a few times that I met a sawed-off with a sawed-off and we both died simultaneously.  Those were probably my favorite moments.  A perfect mix of shock, satisfaction, and disappointment.  Delicious.

Jurassic Parky

The sawn off is amazing once you learn how to use it, shame it only carries very little ammo. Felt awesome play wise, very smooth, unlike Gears 2. :(

I agree with with pretty much everyone else here about how awesome the beta is.  It actually took me awhile to get used to playig with no lag.  It is very smooth and has a great feel to it.  And you get ribbons for dying first, dying the most, and assisting people.  My top three skills.  ;D

So we could be seeing the ''takes forever to find a match'' still, hope they work on that.I know it kinda changes when youre in a group and so less people to find but lets hope.As for ribbons for dying Im putting a challenge out to you all ,from 20th september -25th december I will have more death ribbons!!!  #)

Have any details surfaced as to what's going to be contained in the Limited and Epic Editions?

EDIT:
Answered my own question, sort of -

I've been hearing of an official announcement happening at E3, but there's this clue from [Rod Fergusson's Twitter] feed, for those interested.

In case it hasn't already been mentioned, the Gears 3 beta sports a Halo Reach-esque "party" system, which is great.  I hope this also means you'll be able to bring larger groups into public matches (one of my biggest disappointments with Gears 2).

Last night it was playing like Gears 2 usually does, loads of lag and dodgy glitches here, there and everywhere, but it was p2p so it goes with the territory.  Dedicated servers on Monday was great though.

it was that bad last night that i won't be playing again until the dedicated servers are back up in the uk, whenever that is.
