I like  having a frag grenade out, running into an enemy rich hill, and being downed.  Then I just pull the trigger to detonate myself and take a bunch of them with me.

I managed to kill 3 idiots on Gears 2 by setting off a frag in my hand while they were all waiting for me to bleed out, they weren't too pleased in the lobby afterwards! :-)

That's my strategy when we play Guardian.  Kamikaze-style.

Unfortunately, it's always hard for me to find a frag grenade.

for the past two nights the uk servers have been up (yes up) for king of the hill, team death match however they still seem to be down. That is why i am playing nothing but king of the hill right now, and i am getting between 25 and 40 kills per round with between 15 and 25 deaths. I am a happy bunny

I'll be on tonight and tomorrow night to blow off some end-of-semester steam. Hopefully I'll get some action in on the weekend too, but I'll probably be busy studying for finals.

you shouldn't think about KD aslong as your having smoe fun.

I'm having a great time on KOTH, but my KD has come down from 1.5 to 1.1. I'm with the neato school of thought, CHHHARRRRRGGGEEEEEE!!!! BLAM!

I've had a couple of Team Deathmatch games where i've got 18/19 kills with only 1/2 deaths which is okay I guess, doubt i'll even try KOTH, just waiting for CTL. :-)

One thing I noticed with the Retro Lancer's charge ability is this:  If the 'charge bar' is NOT red, and you hit someone you won't impale them.  We all should know that, but the trick is, it still counts as a melee hit.  So what you do is you do a close range charge, then immediately melee them afterwards.  This is a near instant double melee and knocks them down.

Also I think the Lancer (non-retro) is probably a great way to improve your kill death ratio.  Just lancering people down from afar is quite effective.  Getting into close quarters with a shotgun, especially the sawed-off is asking to die.  That said I always use the Retro Lancer and Sawed-Off.

you are right, but as my kill death ratio has always been crap in EVERY shooter, and now on gears 3 i am in a positive rather than a negative more often than not, i am happy as it means i am finally getting good at gears. only took me 5 years and 3 games!
