can we get a team of 10 in Public so we can just all play together or is 5 the limit?

5-limit, just like Gears 2 (my biggest disappointment).

This is why I always gravitate to Halo when trying to organize a big group.  I want to play with and against my friends at the same time.   ;D

We'll still be able to do 10 player private matches though when the game launches which is fine for game nights, not that I ever bother with those these days!!

I wanna play against my friends and earn exp too.

It's good the way the teams swap around as you go from game to game in Public. Saves you being forever stuck on the extreme good/bad team. That'll help with Game Nights.

I wasn't a fan of CTL, still KOTH is super fun!! KOTH dragged my KD up to 1.9

I wasn't a fan of CTL either.

I still prefer it to vanilla TDM.

Why play either when KOTH is there?

Invite friends into Gears of War 3 beta

Been enjoying the Gears of War 3 beta? Got jealous chums who want in? Well, Microsoft has just announced a scheme that will let beta key holders invite friends to share the fun.

Everyone who has played at least one game in the beta will receive a "buddy token" which will grant an Xbox Live friend access to the trial run.

US users will then be offered further opportunities to rope in friends. Performing any one of the following actions will net you a further token:

* Purchase any "Gears of War" content from Xbox Live Marketplace (including a "Gears of War" game add-on, a "Gears of War" Games on Demand title, or a "Gears of War" Avatar item)
* Play 20 or more hours of the "Gears of War 3" beta (any time already spent in the beta will count toward this challenge)
* Add a 12-month Xbox Live Gold subscription to your existing account (purchased from retail or online)
* Play more than 100 hours of any "Gears of War" title, lifetime to date

You have until 4th May to complete any of the challenges, with tokens distributed by email from 8th May. That gives you a week to get stuck in together before the beta goes offline on 15th May.

Microsoft is automatically tracking everyone's progress, so you won't need to take any additional action to claim your tokens.

Cliffy B wanted Master Chief in Gears 3

Epic asked Microsoft to allow Halo hero Master Chief to cameo in Gears of War 3, lead designer Cliff Bleszinksi has revealed.

When asked by Complex if there was any chance of seeing Master Chief or Mass Effect's Commander Shepard offered as playable characters via DLC, Bleszinski admitted that he had already looked into it.

"I'll let you in on a secret. I actually approached Microsoft on getting Master Chief into the game, but those guys are kind of squeamish," he explained.

"One of Halo's successes is that it's a soft M [rating]. Gears pushes it further. I'm creatively comfortable with that, though it can limit what you do. If you had to break it down, I'd say that Gears is like Mortal Kombat and Halo is like Street Fighter.

"But if we were to get Master Chief, we'd get his model, put him in a COG suit, make it blow up, and do some test animation work," he continued.

"We'd have to see what his head looks like being blown to smithereens or how his arm would look getting sawed off. Then we'd package up the test footage, put it on YouTube, and let the fans get a kick out of it because everything is meta these days.

"That's why Gears is packed with Easter eggs. That's the kind of metagame we have to think about in a post-Red Dead Redemption world."

A Gears of War 3 multiplayer beta is currently ongoing with the finished game expected to launch on Xbox 360 this September.

As fun as it would be to see AAA title characters cameo in eachothers' games, there are obvious continuity issues that can't be ignored.

Epic are a little less strict about their mythologies, but Halo and Mass Effect have built an empire around their universes, they don't do things lightly.  Even the Master Chief cameo in Dead or Alive 4 had to be retracted and rewritten to suit the Halo universe.

In sort-of related news, I still it would be insane to not include Marcus as Mortal Kombat DLC.  That would work on so many levels.

Hopefully we'll see some Lost Planet characters for those people who owned LP2.

That's what I meant by retracted and rewritten.  She was supposed to be Master Chief before MS/Bungie/343 decided to pull the plug on that.

Is that a promise?
I like my women how I like my coffee: ground up and in the freezer.

The doctors say his chances are 50/50... but there's only a 10% chance of that.
