Chrome Weapon Skins and How to Unlock Them

The Chrome Lancer is earned by getting the Gears 1 achievement of “Don’t Hate the Player.” This achievement requires you to have the highest score in a Gears 1 match. Next is the Chrome Hammerburst and it is earned by getting the Gears 2 achievement, “Dirty, Dirty Horde.” You must play the first 10 waves of horde to unlock this achievement. Then we have the Chrome Retro Lancer and is unlocked by getting the Gears 1 achievement “Domination.” Be sure to play at least 10 chapters in Gears of War 1 with Dom to obtain this skin. The Chrome Gnasher is tied to all 3 games. It can be unlocked by completing all 3 Gears campaigns on any difficulty. Last but not least, the Chrome DBS is unlocked by getting any achievement in Gears PC.

After discussing the Chrome Weapon skin unlocks, Rod dropped some mega bombs about 2 more unlockable skins within the game. To obtain the Onyx (Black) Skins, you have to get 6000 kills with that specific gun. You also get the medal and title to go along with said Onyx gun. The Gold Omen Skin is unlocked by achieving level 100 in Gears of War 3. So, grind, grind, grind.

Apparently Campaign/Horde kills don't count towards the Onyx Skins/Medals!
