Loving the bigger battlefields and better flanking options, genuinely feels like better with 3 players cover firing and one player sneaking round the back to cause havoc!

This I like instead of ooh look we pulled the trigger on the gnasher at the same time an eh..... im dead cuz he/she has host advantage!!

Hows the connections , lag and ping so far?

They finally got the multiplayer right. I'm only level 12 so far but I'm having a blast. Team Deathmatch fits really well and I don't miss Annex at all. Haven't experienced any lag yet, but guess we'll see how the servers hold up this weekend.

I played a KOTH and a Capture The Leader match and the lag was negligible. Important safety tip: You can free your leader with a well-thrown smoke grenade in Gears 3. I think you used to be able to do this in Gears 2, but they took it out. At any rate, this is the easiest way to uncap your leader.

I played through all 12 rounds of Beast mode earlier and I didn't like the balance very much. Some of the more expensive monsters weren't worth the money at all. The regular boomer ends up being the most useful class by far.

I do, however, like the new Horde mode. I didn't like Horde mode in Gears 2; but, with the building of defenses and the boss waves, now it is much more fun. I still think it takes a little too long for it to get challenging (I'm not patting myself on the back, I just mean that the first 9 rounds or so are kind of a waste of time), but once it gets tough it is some good fun.

One question though is the xp requirement from level to level too low now, or is the game issuing xp too highly?

Seems like you're all hitting the teens already. Maybe its just cause of every mode issuing out.

Yeh, the Corpser and the Centipede thing were really powerful too, but the Digger Boomer and the Armored Kantus get raped in Beast.
Apart from the blindness, the Berserker is dominant on Beast mode.

I liked Horde but havn't played it much yet, only the first 5 waves.

MP is as amazing as the Beta, but they've got the servers sorted. I played 11 games in a row of Warzone last night and loved it all, probably because i was MVP 6 times. I think the Shotty is nerfed a little, it's still much better than the SO, even if they have made it easier to reload. Did watch one guy run round the map and murder 4 people with it in quick succession.

SP is fun too, had some splitscreen and Hard mode through Chapter 1 and 2. Loving it so far.

I also cracked and bought some shiny gun colours (Oil Slick). tbh, i looked at the Youtube vid and when it came up i was all awezombified by the look and now i own it. What's £2 at the end of the day?

Did you get the red omen for the Lancer as a bonus with that? That's the only skin I want to buy and Craig seemed to think it came free with any other weapon sking so thought I may as well buy one?

I think they made the first 10 levels require a lot less XP so people could start unlocking some stuff.  I definitely noticed it taking longer to level up once I got in the teens.  I think I was at level 4 or 5 within a few games.

Side question - Does anyone know when Epic plans to open the War Journal?

Side Question 2 - I didn't get my 0 point achievement, even thought I've played 3 or 4 casual games AND Gears 1 and 2.  I'm not a completionist, so not a big deal, just wondering if anyone else had that happen.

Not seen that mate, I always check them after a match and the exclamation goes away, i'll have another look in a bit though.

I think all the purchasable weapon skins look garish and out of place. That's why I'm going to buy the tasteful bubblegum pink Lancer skin to use.

Just got done with the campaign, solid stuff. Can't wait to go back in it in Co-Op!

Gonna hammer the multiplayer for some time now I've got the campaign out of the way.

Can you preview the weapon skins ingame? Might have to buy maybe just one.
