I think all the purchasable weapon skins look garish and out of place. That's why I'm going to buy the tasteful bubblegum pink Lancer skin to use.

Picked up my copy this morning, and one thing I gotta say, Epic have definitely upped the quality of the Limited Editions of Gears with each release. Having previously known what was in the packaging for this release, it wasn't totally surprising, but from Gears 1's Tin Box to Gears 2's Lancer steel case and now the Cog Box, definitely pleased with the quality of the included material and packaging, feels a lot more personalized than the first two, especially with all the Adam Fenix correspondence.

Don't like the plain boring case that Gears 3 comes in in the Limited Edition, the Gears 2 steelbook was far better.

It's definitely much more subtle (and somewhat ominous) than the previous versions, think that's what I like about it. There are subtle raised design elements under the cog, which don't translate much on the images but the physical velvet-like texture of the box itself helps somewhat, IMO.

I did find it somewhat interesting that the instruction manual itself is far less descriptive and thorough, with only a controller diagram and little else. With a game that has such a deep MP experience, seems it could have used more information with regards to included features.

Ah, ok. Mine appeared before I bought my skin but regardless of that at least I'm not the only one, I thought I may have accidently glitched something... oh well, it's only a minor annoyance.
