Confirmation from Rod on Twitter about the new maps:

To answer a bunch of questions, Horde Command Pack maps are only available for player hosted gametypes like Horde, Beast and Private MP

He then answered a tweet saying that the maps will be available in matchmaking but a date hasn't been decided for that.

This does annoy me a bit. I bought the season pass, and I don't regret that, but it is a bit annoying to know they already had the DLC on the disc and asked us to pay extra for it anyway.

Also, for the DLC, because it can only be used in private gametypes (to begin with) only the host needs the maps, people without the maps can then join and still play, they won't be able to unlock the new achievements though but they can still try the maps!

Just means we won't have to wait for it to download. They could have made it and not put it on the disc and left it 2 months and still sold it to you... you'd be non the wiser. They've probably made a shed load of stuff already and are just waiting to sell it to you.

They did have like an extra 6 months to "polish" the game.

I've not played Gears 3 since last week!

I'll probably just rent Rage or wait until I see it on the cheap.

Cliffy B has mentioned on Twitter that we may get a classic playlist on Gears 3 in the future which means no sawed off or retro lancer, just the good old Gears 1 & 2 starting weapons, thoughts?

Last played Gears 3 last Wednesday night, been playing god awful Duke Nukem Forever since then!
