The US Centers for Disease Control Is Officially Prepared for a Zombie Invasion

Sure, it's a thinly-veiled promo for disaster preparedness, but we can't help but be comforted by the CDC's blog post "Preparedness 101: Zombie Apocalypse." Turns out they know exactly what to do in the likely event of a zombie invasion.

From the CDC:

QuoteIf zombies did start roaming the streets, CDC would conduct an investigation much like any other disease outbreak. CDC would provide technical assistance to cities, states, or international partners dealing with a zombie infestation. This assistance might include consultation, lab testing and analysis, patient management and care, tracking of contacts, and infection control (including isolation and quarantine). It's likely that an investigation of this scenario would seek to accomplish several goals: determine the cause of the illness, the source of the infection/virus/toxin, learn how it is transmitted and how readily it is spread, how to break the cycle of transmission and thus prevent further cases, and how patients can best be treated.

However, their suggestions for a zombie apocalypse preparedness kit is sorely lacking: Where's the sawed-off shotgun?

It's also a good idea for everyone to read ...

I gave a copy to everyone I knew during Christmas a few years ago, with a note attached that said "Because I care."

It does discuss "recorded attacks" in history, which includes some in Germany predating WWII. It's all based in facts, not Call of Duty games.

apparantly theyre turning world war z into a film to be released next year...with none other that brad pitt (gotta say not his biggest fan) as max brooks. Be interesting to see how they tie all the mini stories together...and my friends keep telling me i need help as i have my own mini kit ready for the apocalypse...theyll be the ones running to me soon....when the world ends...hmmm i best go sharpen my hanzo...
