I <3ed Resident Evil Code Veronica and 4, they were perfect zombie games for their time imo.  They really fell of the boat with 5 but I have hopes they will jump back on.   I am not usually a fan of the new kind of "fast zombie" style, but left4dead has a good feel and it's insanely fun to play.

I've tried and re-tried the Resi Evil games a few times over the years and I can just never quite get into it, literally the controls are what puts me off every time. Sad and fickle of me, and unusually so, I know.

Left 4 Dead is amazing at what it does - but I think Failed hit it on the nail, I just want some post-Z-Day RPG. Eternal gratitude to anyone who makes it happen.   :-\

Yeah, the controls are most certainly outdated now. I recently bought the remastered RE4 for the xbox and it was annoying to say the least.  I think a huge part of the problem with RE5 was that they didn't really update them at all. The fact that you couldn't run and shoot really annoyed me. If played in their time on the correct system though, the older games were really awesome (I think anyhow.)

I really enjoyed Resident Evil (the first one) on gamecube.  I thought the sound and graphics were well done.

I like my women how I like my coffee: ground up and in the freezer.

The doctors say his chances are 50/50... but there's only a 10% chance of that.

Looked at Dead Island briefly today, seems pretty awesome - will check it out when I have some money, it seems to have become pretty cheap pretty quick.

People I know who have played Dead Island have enjoyed it, I gather from what I've been told it's the type of game you need to give a few hours to before it get's going.
There was also a patch released for it that eradicated early glithes in the game that seemed to put people off it.

I'll give it a shot, it's like £25 at the minute too. Most games aren't that bad when they're cheaper, but for £40 you expect something exemplary.

I loved Dead Island, was one of the most fun games i played this year. Something surprisingly satisfying about cutting limbls/heads off of zombies in first person.

It is a very glitchy game and the character movement feels really stiff but its still really fun. I didn't even have to give it a couple hours to get into it, only took about 30 minutes before i was hooked. It felt like Fallout with zombies to me which Fallout is one of my favorite games. If you can get past the few shortcomings of the game like glitches and very poor voice acting then you could very well enjoy the game. (at least the voice acting is better than Just Cause 2, SkorPIO lol)

JC2 had the WORST voice acting I've ever seen. I kinda prefer anything that isn't Halo or CoD-ish to be in 3rd person, but eh. Will still try it sooner or later.

It has horrid voice acting but such amazing gameplay. I don't think Dead Island would work in 3rd person too well. Wouldn't be as immersive as it is. It also would be even harder to hit the zombies with your weapons let alone shoot them when you find guns.
