What's your game of the year?
What deserves a special mention or even what let you down,
Any game disappoint you?
Was it a good year for games?

For me.
Game of the year:
1st place. Gears of war 3.
2nd place. Deux Ex:Human Revolution.
3rd place. Batman Arkham City.

Special mention goes to:
LA Noire for trying something different and being so close to pulling it off.

Disappointment of the year:
Crysis 2 A very good game, But maybe I had my hope up to high as this never really engaged me as I thought it would.

i havn't played Skyrim yet, but it's gonna be Skyrim.

I haven't finished Dead Space 1 yet! Is 2 much different? I keep seeing it really cheap, makes me want to get on and finish the first.

There's more action and the controls seem more fluid. Great game, still need to complete it on Hardcore.

Good call Parky, DS2 came out in January!! I still havn't finsihed it, but it's v.good minus the scare factor as it's v.similar to DS1. Alice ftw! Story trumps the odd camera annoyance and generic combat

I had an hour on Rayman Generations before and it's stunning, it's looking to be another honorable mention before the year is out.

Mine would have to be Gears 3 as I haven't played any of the other contenders (LA Noire, Skyrim, Uncharted 3 etc.)

Played a bit of Arkham City but not enough of it to say it's my game of the year, though when i've finished it, it'll more than likely become numero uno!

It could have been a little harder and included Challenge Mode/Time Trials, something for longevity. The DLC needed achievements. In the end it was amazing, but not as good as Portal SA (although longer).

I had forgot about that, it definately deserves a mention.

Well these are easy:

Best game: Gears Of War 3 (by a country mile)

Biggest disappointment: Battlefield 3 (by an even bigger country mile)

Skip all that Skyrim get's it. Sorry Gears you now come in a very close second.
