Doritos Crash Course 2
« on: February 15, 2013, 08:59:57 AM »
Doritos Crash Course 2 Coming to Xbox Live Arcade

Doritos Crash Course 2 is headed to Xbox Live Arcade, according to an Xbox Marketplace listing.

The first game in the series - a kind of endless runner advergame with avatars - hit at the tail end of 2010 and, to the surprise of everyone, wasn’t completely crap. So y’know, someone out there might be excited about it.

"Crash Course 2 is the free to play sequel to the XBLA smash hit Doritos Crash Course," says the blurb. "Run, jump, slide and wall jump your Avatar through 5 new worlds of irreverent obstacles, traps and pitfalls. In this 2.5 platformer, compete for medals and find stars to progress. If you get stuck, buy coins to unlock new courses, power-ups and vanity items. Compare your best time against up to 3 asynchronous game clips of your friends."

Have a look at the screens below. And perhaps buy some Mountain Dew too, as a tasty accompanying beverage. Yum!

Important to keep in mind "free to play" doesn't mean "free".  However, I do like the challenge of seeing how much I can squeeze out of a F2P game without spending money.   8)

Doritos Crash Course 2 Running on to XBLA Tomorrow

Featuring four new worlds to run, jump, slide and wall jump through with your Xbox Live Avatar, Doritos Crash Course 2 is coming to the Xbox Live Arcade tomorrow, offering up another dose of colourful obstacle navigating shenanigans. For free.

Major Nelson tweeted the release date, confirming that the XBLA sequel will be bringing more traps, pitfalls and obstacles to tackle, with support for up to 4-players offline.

Doritos Crash Course 2 also has leaderboards, online multiplayer and more. It's out on May 8th for free. That's tomorrow, for nothing.

FYI - Doritos Crash Course Nearing The End Of The Line

Quote
Doritos Crash Course 2, a free-to-play platformer, was released on the XBL Arcade almost a year ago as a follow-up to its hugely popular predecessor, Doritos Crash Course.

Microsoft Studios has confirmed today that the sequel will be closed down on October 15th, 2014. In the meantime, Doritos Crash Course 2 will "remain unchanged and playable" with the exception of one important change that takes effect from today (as quoted below):

...players with unspent coins can purchase in-game consumables but will be unable to purchase Coin PacksThe closure will mean that all of the game's achievements will become unobtainable from October 15th, so there is no time to waste. Hurry up and get your avatar limbered up to run, jump, and bounce your way through enough courses and unique stars to complete the game.

*Note: Doritos Crash Course 2 has been Delisted From Xbox Live...
