500GB HDD coming to 360
« on: August 20, 2014, 07:11:00 AM »
Xbox 360 Will Be Getting a New 500GB Hard Drive Soon

We don't know about you, but space has become something of a premium on our Xbox 360 of late, thanks in no small part to free Games with Gold every month. Help is at hand, however, as Microsoft is planning to release a 500GB hard drive for Xbox 360 Slim and the newer, even slimmer Xbox 360 'E' model.

Currently, the 500GB hard drive is only visible on the US Xbox.com site, priced at $109.99 (roughly £66), which is $20 cheaper than the current 320GB hard drive available for Xbox 360. That one is available for $129.99/£79.99, although we'd expect the price to drop once the 500GB HDD launches.

To date, Xbox 360 Slim and the most recent E model have released with 250GB hard drives, apart from the cheaper 4GB console, which can be expanded with a separate slot-in hard drive. As you'll well know, the Slim and E's HDD can be swapped out and replaced with ease.

Microsoft has yet to announce a release date for the 500GB hard drive or plans for launch in other territories outside of the US.
