Neato / crawler, I saw you guys playing this. How good is it? We don't get it for another couple of days.

So far I'm loving it.

The drop-in-drop-out works flawlessly for me so far.  I really like the "look" of the game.  The gameplay sort of feels like a mesh of Halo 3, Left 4 Dead, and COD4, which suits me very well.

So far I only have one gripe.  I completed all of the beginning missions, and leveled up to 7.  Now the only two missions remaining in the area I'm confined to require Level 10!  I think I've searched everywhere in the area but cannot find any other missions, only random fights with animals and bandits.

So I'm guessing the game forces you to grind for 3 Levels?  That seems like poor game design.  When you complete missions in the order intended, you should have the resources you need to proceed.  Being forced to grind 3 Levels seems a little dickish.

However, I could be wrong.  It was pretty late when I came to this conclusion, and I was ready to go to bed.  If Crawler or anyone else has already finished the Bonehead / Vehicle mission, can you tell me how you did it?  Were you below Level 10 and just fought your way through it?

i havent gotten to it yet. im only level 7. i read it was a bit of a grinder in one of the early previews so i expected it. im really liking it so far, tho im still new to the game. it does kinda remind me of a dumbed down fallout 3. it wont win any game of the year awards, but its pretty fun.

I figured it out.  There was an area of the map I hadn't explored, and (surprise, surprise) I found Level 7 missions there.

I'm now nearing Level 16 and loving the game.  I haven't played Fallout 3, which is probably a good thing.  Everyone keeps comparing it, but since it wasn't made by Bethesda, Bioware or Square, it's not going to come on top.  I will say this though, I'm enjoying my first few hours playing Borderlands than I did the first few hours playing Fable 2.   ;)

I really like the little ideas Gearbox "borrowed" from other games.  The control scheme is nearly identical to COD4, which is great.  The weapons and upgrades are similar (but simplied) to Mass Effect.  Some characters and environments are slightly reminiscent of Bioshock.  The game is like a love letter to some of the best games of the past decade.

You lying piece of sh*t.

You're a level 27 Siren last I saw.

Also I might get this tomorrow and make my triumphant return to XBL, who wants to join me?

I noticed over the weekend that almost all the American (& Canadian) people on my friends list (not all of which are 360DF) were playing this compared to only a few of my European friends!

Was this game hyped up in the States more or after Fallout 3 is there an increase in this type of game?  I cant say I've seen any TV adverts for it over here.

I bought Borderlands this morning, decided my stack of scorewhore games needed to go and swapped them all for Borderlands.

My mates coming in today and we're gonna play some split-screen!

You will love it Failed. I've only scratched the surface so far, but it is very good.

I've probably seen more Brutal Legend ads than Borderland ads, but the 'buzz' for Borderland has been pretty steady this year in the magazines I read and the Xbox.com forums.

I think the shameless violence and 'attitude' of the game is probably more appealing to the US than UK.  American's love nothing more than seeing blood splatter on the screen followed by a narrative "f*ck Yeah!"
