Shenmue and Shenmue II Coming to Xbox One This Year



During today's Sega Fes event in Japan, it has been announced that Shenmue and Shenmue II are both coming to Xbox One later this year, digitally and at retail in a physical format with both games packaged together. a "timeless tale of revenge" Shenmue has you playing as Ryo Hazuki, as he sets out to avenge his father's death and unravel the secrets of a mysterious artefact known as the Dragon Mirror.

The games will be receiving graphical enhancements and an updated UI, and will offer options for classic or modern controls, and Japanese or English voice tracks. Described as "the definitive version" of Shenmue and its sequel, the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions will include modern or classic control schemes, an updated UI and both the original Japanese and English voiceovers.

A release window was not confirmed, nor was any pricing information, but pre-orders are expected to go live sooner than later. Shenmue I and Shenmue II launch for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 sometime in 2018.

Had always wanted to get into this series but never got a chance to pick it up...same goes for Yakuza so definitely glad they're getting some re-workings this gen.
