One playthrough was enough for me. Good game... but unskippable cutscenes? No thanks.

I don't think I ever noticed.  Mass Effect is one of those games that are all about the experience to me.  RDR is the same way.  When playing, I don't think of it as a game really.  I get immersed.  Skipping a scene would probably feel jarring to me, and jerk me out of my fantasy.   :-[

Four Xbox 360 players completed Mass Effect 2 23 times
BioWare's RPG seems to have been the only game in some collections.

BioWare has revealed some unusual Mass Effect 2 statistics, showing how four players completed the RPG a staggering 23 times.

The stats, over at IGN, are what BioWare will look at in an effort to improve and finely tune Mass Effect 3, the final part of the trilogy.

Other interesting stats show that only around half the players who started Mass Effect 2 went on to finish it while 80% of players chose a male Shepard.

Some people also spent 66 hours on a single playthrough. How? We can't even fathom how this is possible, unless they mined every single planet for every single mineral known to man.

I only gave it one playthrough, but I'm going to come back to it in 6 months or so and give it another go on Insane. (Well maybe!)

Thank god for the new Tomb Raider, helped me de-stress after a tough week! More of the same please

The next time I load up ME2 for DLC, I'll check my stats to see how much time I spent on my 1st playthrough.  I bet it was at least 50 hours.  I take my time with everything I love (... hey ladies   8)).

New DLC on the way and Cerberus Network Daily News ending,

Bioware have announced, via the Cerberus Daily News, that there will be more downloadable content released for Mass Effect 2 in 2011. It was also confirmed that the daily news updates provided by the Cerberus Network will cease from January 24th, 2011.

There will, however, be a week of news updates preceding the release of the new downloadable content, and another two weeks of posts leading up to the release of Mass Effect 3. Bioware are yet to release more details regarding the nature of the downloadable content.

Mass Effect 3 is currently pencilled in for a release during the holiday 2011 season.

Now I've really enjoyed ME2 more than ME1 so I'm looking forward to the third.

I hope they keep all the side quests and random mini quests too. Sometimes it's nice to just wander and do what you want!
DLC though....well it makes it more interesting too. I got all mine at once which meant I got things like Kasumi quite early on.

I have a spare Cerberus Network code if anyone is interested

Is the code similar to the VIP code on Battlefield?

Legion

Yeah, it just gives you access to a few pieces of DLC (a couple quests and a new character) that you would otherwise have to pay about a tenner for.

Cannot wait for the new DLC, whatever it is. They've done a stellar job so far (cwutididthar? :D ) with everything, and I doubt they'll cock up with whatever's next.

PS3 owners have recently received an update to ME2, which included various trophy additions.

It seems these updates have hinted at an upcoming DLC pack called "Arrival" for Mass Effect 2. One of the trophies, called "Covert Action" speaks of one Dr. Amanda Kenson, who has apparently been mentioned recently within Cerberus Network:

"Historians and astronomers alike are abuzz tonight over a new paper published by Dr. Amanda Kenson of the University of Arcturus ... "Only a small fraction of the mass effect relays date back 50,000 years," she writes, "The majority are far older, indicating they were created by a species predating even the Protheans." ... What civilization could have spanned the galaxy for not thousands, but millions of years? If this were the case, we should have found mountains of evidence of their passing. Where is this species now?"

Looks like some believe that the upcoming DLC is going to be released in order to bridge the gap between Mass Effect 2 and ME3.

I still haven't played all of the ME2 DLC's to-date.

I often find myself fondly remembering ME2 like an old girlfriend, but it never occurs to me to actually take the game off of the shelf.  Must be because I know when I turn it on, I'll be up until 3am and fall asleep with my controller in my hand again.

I need a gamecation.

it's never a good idea to go on a gamecation, you need to overload your senses until you just implode with gaming excess and just lie shivering at your Arcade game list not knowing what to play.
