Sky Player, the new way to get Sky TV through your Xbox 360 will be available in just two weeks time, Microsoft has confirmed.

"October 27 - that's the date when you'll be able to watch TV from Sky on your Xbox 360," said Graeme Boyd, Microsoft Europe's Xbox community manager.

Sky TV programmes will be available to view live or on demand, although pricing will not be announced until the Sky Player launches.

The line-up sounds very similar to what's currently available through a satellite dish. It includes movies and entertainment shows, as well as documentaries and programming dedicated to kids, music, the arts and sport, including Premier League football and Test Match cricket.

If i'm already a Sky customer, i wonder if i can put my account number in and get it for free?

... probably not obviously knowing those money huggers at Sky

That would be great, i've heard that you'll get charged either way, which pretty much sucks!

Just got off the phone with sky. If you have sky but no multi room you pay about ten pounds a month to watch it on your xbox. If you have multi room already watching it on your xbox is free.

I have multi-room, but unless you can pay a £1 to watch a specific football match say I won't be bothering watching it through the Xbox, as my Xbox is connected to the same TV as the main Sky box is anyway!

Thank god for the new Tomb Raider, helped me de-stress after a tough week! More of the same please

Have any of you signed up for the early preview?

I thinks its a great idea. Like when you can stream music from your pc through the Xbox.

Its nice to have a choice. I dont have sky and dont watch TV that often either but its nice to know that if I wanted to its available

Just found some more info on the xbox forums

You only need a multiroom subscription to view LIVE tv.

If you have a sky subscription you will not need to pay any more to get the sky player on demand.

For people without a sky subscription you will need a sky player subscription which from the one on the computer it looks like it starts at £15pm also on the pc one you can pay per view so maybe you will be able to do this on the xbox.

Like others have previously said, both my Sky box & 360 are connected to the same TV so for me the Sky Player is useless.
