Kinect needs separate plug on old 360's

Microsoft has revealed that Kinect will run on the newly redesigned Xbox 360 without a separate power supply.

Anyone using the motion sensor on older Xbox models, however, will have it plug it into the wall separately from the console.

Among the features listed on the back of the new 360's box is a "custom Kinect port". The "custom" part refers to the fact that the port not only connects the 360 to the Kinect camera bar, it provides all the power it needs too, while owners of existing models will need a separate power lead.

The new Xbox has plenty of other tweaks too, of course: it boasts 802.11n Wi-Fi built-in, has touch-sensitive buttons, a 250 GB HD, and is very, very quiet.

I am sure it will be fixed in time. If not we will get a patch. It is like Wii sports but it looks more fun and energetic. I like games like that but I wouldn't want to play Gears or CoD on it. Kinect should be just used for silly games.
For me it's just an add on that I want so I don't need to ask the kids if I can use their Wii

It will be fixed no doubt, one of the games shown looked pretty bad though, woman jumps, character on screen jumps around 2 seconds later, that's bad.  The Dance Central game looked spot on though.

My problem with Kinect is that the games shown don't appeal to the core audience that has loyally stuck by the platform over the last five years, obviously they are looking towards pulling in the casual gamer audience, as long as that doesn't halt progress on the kind of games that have made the console so bloody popular, Halo, Gears, COD etc. then i'm fine with it, yeah I said it.  Still not gonna get it though.

Nobody playing online when i got it so couldn't get the online chieves, also it was so bad i wasn't going through career again as a midfielder and defender, only finished with around 450.

I won't bother then, i have to get 2 games a week from Blockbuster, but with me going away to Amsterdam on Tuesday i'll only have 4 days to finish 2 games. I was gonna get SSF4 and something else short and easy.

Got Alpha Protocal this week and Dead to Rights. AP took a while for me to get into, but i'm starting to like it more..... Dead to Rights is frakkin awesome, so much fun and great story and acting so far. Truly loving it, highly recommended and easy 1k supposedly.

I've got both of those on my rental list, gotta finish DiRT2 first though.

I quite like the look of Alpha Protocal but some people gave it bad reviews
