she has slapped my arm when playing kinect sports but it didn't hurt. those guys were stood way too close together, before each game starts you have an icon on screen that moves around the play space as you do and it tells you to make sure you have plenty of arm room, we follow the instructions and stand on the left most and right most edge of the allowed play space and we never have a problem (apart from that one slap when she got a little carried away). the kinect haters will probably use vids like that to boost their argument that kinect is rubbish, but there are loads of vids on you tube of nintendo wii motes flying across rooms into tv's and walls and people, and also people getting smacked in the face and body with them too. very funny vid though, made me laugh way too much  ;D

I'm glad you are enjoying it. Lets face it, whether we like it or not the 360 is going to get more and more Kinect focused. So the more people who buy it now the better the chance is that when the rest of us are forced to own the thing the games will be halfway decent.

id's Carmack wants to make Kinect title

id Software boss John Carmack wants to make a Kinect game – but it won't be a lift of one of its current FPS titles.

The Quake creator told Joystiq, "I have an itch to make a Kinect title for Xbox Live."

However, he's short on a concept right now. "I don't even know what I'd want to do yet," he explained.

"I can't use Kinect for our real games; there just isn't a place for our current FPSes on there," Carmack explained. "But it's an interesting technology, and an Xbox Live game would be the perfect platform to do something like that on, at about the same scale of [a game for] an iOS device."

Next up from Carmack and id Software is post-apocalyptic FPS Rage, due next year for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. While you're waiting, an impressive iOS rail shooter spin-off called Rage: Mutant Bash TV hit the App Store earlier today.

This video may be marginally nsfw, so I won't use the youtube tag. The nudity is blurred out, but I think to stay safe I'll put it in a regular link.

Youtube of Adult Film "actress" Kirsten Price testing Kinect's nudity censor.

Very funny. And actually pretty neat. Both in that they got a hot naked chick to play Kinect for my viewing pleasure, but more importantly because the tech they show off in the vid is surprisingly cool.

quote from the article - Where was the innovation? Why couldn't a single developer, especially Microsoft's own teams, come up with something that couldn't be played just as easily with a Wii Remote.

bullshit. You can't play kinect sports 100 metre dash with a wii remote, it requires you to run and it tracks your legs, on the wii you would just be waggling the remote. same goes for most of the sports on it, in voley ball you can jump to hit the ball back for instance. I have tried dance central and it tracks your entire body and lets you know if one of your limbs is even slightly out of position when dancing, on the wii it would just be moving your arms around with a couple of controllers in your hand - hence nothing like actual dancing. the reviews of your shape - fitness evolved have all pretty much said that it brings fitness games into a whole new era, and the way it knows exactly what you are doing and either tells you off or praises you is sometimes scary, on the wii you need an expensive 'balance board' and a couple of controllers to get an effect that is nowhere near as good or realistic and doesn't help you tone up or get fit in the same way. I could be wrong but i don't think you can use dumbbells for weight training in a wii fitness game, you can in your shape. I agree that kinect's launch line up is pretty lame with only a handful of good titles, but the launch line up for the 360 wasn't much better with a lot of people at the time saying that microsoft had rushed the 360's release and should have waited, then gears of war came along. Things can only get better on the kinect and as someone who has owned a wii and now owns kinect i can safely say that the wii was crap in comparison and the future for kinect looks excellent.
