A few weeks ago I remember some industry discussions about Microsoft not revealing their "sales" numbers accurately.  They were only reporting their "shipped" numbers, which means nothing.

Perhaps they were hiding the final numbers for Guiness to reveal?

Kinect goes all 'Roy Castle' on us and is a record breaker:

Microsoft has sold more than 10 million Kinect sensor systems since launch on 4 November, and - according to Guinness World Records - is the fastest-selling consumer electronics device on record.
The sales figures outstrip those of both Apple's iPhone and iPad when launched, Guinness said.

Warwick Davis & Verne Troyer will not be amused!    ;D

QuoteThe patent, filed in March 2010 but publicly released by the USPTO (spotted by Geekwire) reveals Kinect could automatically restrict content by working out the age of the people standing in the room.

What about dwarves?  Or teenagers all hulked out on dairy hormones?

Hey everybody!!

My lovely wife has bought me a slim xbox with 250gb and the kinect attached. I would love to know what you guys like abt the Kinect and what u hate abt it and also the better games. Its with sad regret that i place my original Halo 3 Limited edition Xbox into the cupboard, i break off the shackles of 20gb. I have had this for just over 4 yrs and only prob i have had is the Disc tray will only operate if there is a disc in it, so i have to keep a game in at all times otherwise its a pain to take cover off and manipulate tray with paper clip. So any advice or just feedback is welcomed!!

I had quite a bit of fun with Kinect Sports.  My sister enjoyed Dance Central a lot.  I hear that Child of Eden is a great game.

Congrats on the new Xbox :)  Now you can actually install games onto the hard drive haha
I like my women how I like my coffee: ground up and in the freezer.

The doctors say his chances are 50/50... but there's only a 10% chance of that.

Child of Eden wasn't that great to me - good, but not amazing. But not through bad design I don't think, it's a subjective thing. It's enjoyable in that it shows off the Kinect to you, and there's some very very nice moments in it - just very short. Definitely worth a play since it's pretty cheap now though :)

Merged Zero's Kinect thread with the main Kinect discussion thread.   :)

I finally caved and bought the Kinect during Black Friday.  One for me, and one for my sister/nephew.

I haven't actually used it for any games yet.  So far I've only used it for videochat, which is a nice improvement over using the old 360 camera (no headset required).

After Christmas, I'll be giving Once Upon a Monster a spin.  Expect a quick review.  ;)

That is all.

Anybody ever pick up the Nyko Zoom for the Kinect?  Is it worth getting? It'd be nice not to fill the hallway with furniture every time the thing gets dusted off!!

I just bought a tv mount clip off ebay, I hope it's not too shabby! but at least I can leave it there perma. I was looking at that Nyko zoom and was wondering if it was any good, I don't need to make space I'm good on that front, damn thing is 32 euro though.

I just blu-tacked mine on, it's been fine. I imagine those clips would be decent. It works a heck of a lot better higher up, to the point I even considered getting one of those wall brackets for it or fitting a shelf up there. It does make me wish we had a larger lounge (like they assume everyone has according to the adverts). It'd make for much more comfortable use, especially when there's a couple of us playing.

I did manage to get it balanced on my screen the first few days - didn't take long for it to fall off and scratch. That was great fun. At least it didn't break ;D
